Placental endocannabinoid metabolism and gene expression gestational age-related alterations across preterm and term birth
Keywords Placenta endocannabinoid system preterm birth gestational age metabolomics monoacylglycerols ▒ KEY MESSAGE Gestational age is the dominant driver of placental enndocannabinoid system (ECS) variation across gene and metabolite profiles. Spontaneous preterm placentas reflect earlier maturation, with elevated monoacylglycerols and higher PTGS2 expression under 32 weeks. These data refine ECS change interpretations preterm birth and suggest links to prostaglandin pathways in parturition.
NLRP3 inflammasome characterization in first-trimester, preterm, and term human villous placenta
Abstract Precise regulation of inflammatory signaling at the maternal-fetal interface is essential for a healthy pregnancy, yet how the NLRP3 inflammasome is regulated in the placenta during pregnancy and in preterm birth remains poorly understood. We characterized NLRP3 inflammasome-associated signaling in human villous placental tissue from first-trimester (8–11 weeks), preterm (28–<37 weeks), and term (38–40 weeks) pregnancies.
Developmental expression of catecholamine system in the human placenta and rat fetoplacental unit - Scientific Reports
Abstract Catecholamines norepinephrine and dopamine have been implicated in numerous physiological processes within the central nervous system. Emerging evidence has highlighted the importance of tightly regulated monoamine levels for placental functions and fetal development. However, the complexities of synthesis, release, and regulation of catecholamines in the fetoplacental unit have not been fully unraveled.
Anti-HIV and Anti-Hepatitis C Virus Drugs Inhibit P-Glycoprotein Efflux Activity in Caco-2 Cells and Precision-Cut Rat and Human Intestinal Slices
Antiviral Agents Ondrej Martinec, Martin Huliciak, Frantisek Staud, Filip Cecka, Ivan Vokral, Lukas Cerveny DOI: 10.1128/AAC.00910-19 ABSTRACT P-glycoprotein (ABCB1), an ATP-binding-cassette efflux transporter, limits intestinal absorption of its substrates and is a common site of drug-drug interactions (DDIs). ABCB1 has been suggested to interact with many antivirals used to treat HIV and/or chronic hepatitis C virus (HCV) infections.
