What was your first job as a journalist?

At The Daily Californian in El Cajon, Ca writing and photographing for the community news section

How is social media changing news?

Likes, views and reposts have become more important than accurate unbiased reporting

What tools and software do you use to do your job?

As a photographer the gear list is long. Canon mirrorless cameras and RF lenses, MacBook Pro, Verizon Mifi, Capture One, Photoshop

What's your favorite social network?

I am new to Mastadon (as of Dec 22) and I am liking it a lot… but I’ve felt that way about other networks that lost what made them beneficial

Why did you become a journalist?

I enjoy meeting new people and getting to learn about their lives, challenges, successes and passions and tell that story well

Did you work for your high school newspaper? If so, what did you do there?

No, had no interest in photojournalism until I was in my 20’s

When you're not at a computer, where are you most likely to be?

Out on a shoot or on an adventure with the dog
