Recommend me a 22mm lug watch for this deployant clasp!
Hey all: I purchased the below deployant clasp & strap combo after seeing it on a friend’s Breitling Navitimer 01. While I can’t afford the actual watch at the moment, I was hoping to get some ideas for a cheaper watch ($500 and below) that will fit the band (22mm). I’d prefer something similar, like a pilot watch to copy the Breitling aesthetic/theme! View attachment 18201735 thanks!!
Anyone have a Straum Jan Mayen Arctic Blue they can show off?
I'm about to purchase thru Straum. I've searched online everywhere I can think and can't find any used/pre-owned unfortunately. But would love some shots from the community, different angles. It's beautiful. What are your thoughts on it?
White Star Watches
#1 · Hello everyone. I'm a young fella, new to this forum that just got into watch collecting/horology recently after inheriting my grandfather's modest collection of Swiss Watches. While researching online for some vintages, I came across this obscure company called White Star, that is currently trending because of it's beautiful and unique Diagrafic/Chronograph Watches.
Help with vintage ladies Seiko -- need crystal and service recommendation
#1 · I have an old Seiko 2206-0118 ladies watch that I want to get tuned up so my mother can wear it. I tried to sell it a while back, but no takers. I always thought it was cool. Anyways, my mom needs a watch, and this one will work. I have tried to find a crystal for it, but I've so far failed. I also would like a recommendation for somewhere I can send it that I could get a reliable service for this itty-bitty old movement.
SOTC: MALIBOO74's Watch Collection Journal
#1 · [To see where things stand today, jump to the latest] Hey all! Finally getting around to doing a group post. I've been a member here a long time, but hadn't posted much until recently. My intro post is here. Most of my current collection is less than a year old. I spent the past year or two selling off most of my 10+ year old collection to start over and include one grail.
Pre-Baselworld Mido Commander...and Mine!
#1 · I thought I'd show off mine as well as the new "Commander Shade" on a mesh bracelet. What do you think of the new one...and mine? Pre-Baselworld 2018: Mido Commander Shade 100th Anniversary Edition - watchuseek.com According to the WUS article Mido is celebrating it's "100th Anniversary" with a new heritage Commander model. Help identifying
I recently inherited a watch from my grandfather and I wanted to find out more about it. It's a Tissot, but it doesn't have a serial# that starts with a "T". Does this mean it's a fake? All I can tell is that it's a PR100. Tissot's web site wasn't much help either, and most web searches have come up empty with the few exceptions of online sales of pieces that look similar. Any help is appreciated. Hello,
Gold plated prx - can anyone confirm if bracelet links partially unplated?
Question for users who own one of the gold pvd PRX models: are the links on your watches bare steel on the insides of the links? I just got a second hand model and the narrow edges of the links, where they face each other and usually are t visible, have no pvd coating on them. I thought that was a little odd, and I wonder if that’s normal.
As my 70th is quickly approaching in May, I've been thinking MeisterSinger Metris or Alpina Regulator. Regulator it is!
Recently, since discovering the new Damasko DK20, that was my focus. But, for many years, after seeing the MeisterSinger the first time in the early 2000s, I thought that might be something I would really enjoy. Time passes, and oftentimes you forget. That is pretty much the same story with Alpina's Regulator. The Avalanche Extreme Regulator, I think was the first.
Let's talk about Oris
Oris as a brand is quite varied. Some models are pretty impressive, sport in-house movements and cool innovations. But bulk of their line-up is positioned right around lower-entry level swiss luxury. Maybe a step above Hamilton\Tissot, but overall below Longines, Tag Heuer and Tudor. That said, I do like the breadth of their range. The new Rectangular line is very fun and certainly interesting as a way to get into rectangular watches without dropping Cartier Tank or JLC Reverso level money.
The Citizen VS. Grand Seiko
Indeed. I think Citizen purposely designed their marketing strategy for some reason to hide these from any outside market of Japan, or dissuade overseas buyers from getting their hands on them. For instance, a person who buys "The Citizen" in Japan (and is also a citizen of Japan) can register for the 10 year warrranty that Citizen provides. Outside of Japan? 1 year only. Go to Citizen's international website.
NEW Tissot Seastar 1000 40mm Powermatic 80
I was just casually browsing the Tissot website and I decided to click on their "New" section to see what's there. To my surprise, I found some new Seastar models. I'm assuming they'll be released officially quite soon since they're already up on the website. They're all automatic and come in 40mm size and 20mm lug width to match the 40mm quartz models released already. Case shape also moves away from the old 43mm model and is more inline with the quartz offering.
Safe to give out Serial number for watch?
Whatever the case may be, you can’t sell it here, which you’re definitely trying to do with that sexy photo 😂
Victorinox Renegade 24229 Battery Replacement
Hello! So I had found this Victorinox Renegade on eBay for a very cheap price of $30. It said that it needed a battery replacement. When I went to replace the battery, the copper-colored prong that is below the negative side of the battery was bent in. I tried to straighten it. It kind of straightened, but when I put the battery in it didn't work. Any advice?
Tissot Visodate, why influencers don't talk about it ?
As much as I liked the Prx, the lack of custom straps and absence of nato straps is a big negative . So now I am thinking about the gorgeous 42mm Visodate, I tried it in a shop and though not as funky as the Prx it's a sexy watch that merge classic look with special inky blue and shiny markers. Why the influencers don't talk about it at all?
If it’s on Apple News it must be true!!!
#1 · Sadly for me (eye roll) this is behind a paywall and I can’t see this no doubt scintillating article. Did anyone get to read it? See less See more
Recommendation on black case day date 10 bar
Hi all, I am looking for recommendations on a black case, 10 bar, day and date. All of these are a must for the watch. Trying to keep it under $1,000. Ideally between 36 and 42mm. Also, automatic, no G shocks. I have been searching everywhere but I am not coming up with much. The Hamilton Khaki Field King (H64465733) would be the perfect one if it had 10bar. Any thoughts are welcome. Many thanks!
Need help ID'ing a Watch
The back says Breitling 18 jewels and it has a stopwatch function with the crown at the 12. 48.5mm Full Display back. Has a flat spot in the crystal center that is not shown. I cannot find info on it...
Watch giveaways?
Is there a place here that compiles watch giveaways/contests or are they too few and far between to require aggregation? (Yes, you're correct -- I did not win the Teddy B $5k giveaway.)
How often do you set your mechanical watch?
#1 · Just wondering how OCD people are... Sort by #2 · #3 · Rejigger monthly. Discombobulate weekly. But recalibration is a yearly thing, if that. #5 · #4 · Sorry, meaning match the time to the phone/computer/atomic when it loses/gains seconds. #6 · #7 · #9 · Every time I re-start it. I rarely wear the same watch two days in a row, so odds are by the time I pick up a mechanical, it’s gotta get reset anyway. Quartz watches, I check whenever the fancy hits me and reset accordingly if it’s off by much.
Why Does Citizen Not Have Micro Adjustment?
this bracelet appears to have micro adjustment holes.
Lorier Hydra impressions
#1 · I should start by saying that I first came across Lorier at the wind-up Festival in New York City last fall. I was immediately drawn to the Vintage look of their watches, the crystal, and particularly this watch, which has the gilt look on the dial and a little bit of red writing that makes it all pop.
Valentine’s Day watch gift!
#1 · My wife hit the swatch store in the local mall for Valentine’s Day. I don’t know if I ever would have gotten this for myself, not for any reason in particular but it just wasn’t on my radar. Long story short I love it! she got herself the mint green What Is and that’s really cool, too. Sort by #2 · #3 ·

Tissot Sideral Automatic (786-2) - Cannon Pinion Stuck / Stiff?
So I snagged a lot (16) watches off eBay with the gem being a 1969-1970 Tissot Sideral Automatic. Out of the box it was running with a strong tick so I was optimistic as I got the whole lot for $50.
Gentleman powermatic 80 with silicium hairspring - what is the anti-magnetic rated at?
Don’t know the answer to your question but what’s with the bracelet? Five link isn’t an option for that watch afaik.
Are these watches real and is there value? Thank you
#2 · these are all vintage or vintage-y watches and I would easily guess they are all real. value is something you will have to figure out since they are in your possession #3 · Thank you! I appreciate it. I wasn’t sure because the bands were all replaced it looks like.
Would it be a fair trade ?
#2 · Only you and the other party in the trade can decide that. If you feel like it's a fair trade and the other party agrees, it's a fair trade. #3 · If both sides were happy it would be a fair trade. Edit: turns out @MX793 is about three seconds faster on the draw ! #4 · The probability of finding a person to trade for this very watch is very small. I am also talkingfor profesionnals who would eventually agree to a trade with plus or less money).
Patek Repeater - Diamond on Case?
I always enjoy the European Watch Company promotional emails. Lots of top shelf watches in sharp images. For the price of a house (OK, )you could get this gorgeous minute repeater. (see: Patek Philippe 5078P-001 5078P-001 Grand Complication Minute Repeater White Enamel (51680) | European Watch Co.) Question: is that a diamond on the case, between the lugs, at 6? Or a push button? Or both? My curiosity runs wild... Also, is it off center?
Looking for a better "middle" item for my 3 watch core.
#1 · Got the beach/sailing/gardening watch sorted, and the proper dress item, too. However, I can't nail the everyday candidate. I really need a do-it-all wearer with 100m WR, as I live near the sea, and boats/beach type activities sometimes arise without warning. I prefer automatic, non Japanese, no more than 40mm, non diver, at sub $750, but I'm fine with (prefer, actually) pre-owned.
Tissot’s PRX vs C. Ward’s The Twelve
#1 · I’ve been for months quite attracted to the 40mm-variant CW (and thinking I would possibly pick one up at the next Wind Up Watch Fair in NYC). But the very-closely-sized Tissot seems to be a strong alternative and at a significantly lower price. At first glance, the PRX’s power reserve is 80 hours to the Twelve’s 38. But I’m not knowledgeable enough on either one’s movement to compare any further.

This Gucci dive watch is actually pretty cool
Still better looking than a G-Shock. 👀 (ducks and hides) Can't say I'm a fan of the one the OP posted, but the divers they released last year are no joke. Gucci should have been just as creative with the date. Boring font for a fun-looking watch. What do you mean by "date"? I wonder why they put eight o'clock where normally should be six thou'... 😄 Joke aside, till your comment haven't even saw that the watch has a date. 40mm doesn't sound like the right size for the likely market for that watch...
Tiffany/Movado Driver's Watch
#1 · a moment ago Can anyone give me any info on this watch? Tiffany & Co on Dial and Movado on works. 15 jewels. It's not very big. 35 mm from end of lug to lug. 28 mm high. Is it a Driver's watch? Thank you.
Marathon GSAR winding issues, what should I do?
So I have a Marathon GSAR that was purchased directly from Marathon in June 2021. It has a sellita movement, and it's having issues winding. I'll wear it all day everyday, and I'll notice it stopped. Keeps decent time, otherwise (minute slow a week). I contacted Marathon and they said "Sorry, it's 6 mos out of warranty". I guess there's nothing I can really do if they're that strict about the warranty period? Sucks that it's a $1500 watch that I need to pay $300 to service
Oris Pro Pilot Big Date Big Crown vs Tudor 1926 41mm - Which one should I keep?
#27 · 1d ago Went to my AD and had them put on my blue leather strap (not easy finding a quality blue leather strap in 22mm XL). My wife does not hate this watch (and she does not hate the Oris either) but this is her style of what she wants me to wear for more formal occasions (i.e. sport jacket, suit, etc.) so it may be a keeper (for now). Out of all of my watches , the only ones she likes are the Rolex DateJust (she got me), Tudor 1926, and the Oris (in that order).
Is a modern Rolex Sub a tool watch?
This isn't an anti-Rolex post by any means but the more you get into the watch world the more you risk loosing your sense of perspective and your understanding of the value of money. On social media, Watchuseek and particularly Instagram I am also amazed how many people refer to their £10k watch, with a softer metal than 316l as a 'tool watch', in my mind I could never use that watch as a tool and a watch of that value as a tool... A great watch yes, a status symbol yes, but a tool, god no.
Field Watch Suggestion
#1 · Hey everyone, I am interested in a specific type of field watch, but I haven’t stumbled upon an option that connects with me yet. I have a 42 mm Hamilton Khaki Field and it hits most of my checkboxes. I have worn it for years and will continue, but I’d like a bit smaller and maybe more rugged field option.
JW Benson
#2 · JW Benson was an eminent English jeweller and very well regarded back in the day. Their operations were destroyed in WWII, and the name sold to Garrards, who put it in the bin some time later. They would have recased movements from Vertex, Revue, Smiths and others. I don't know which movement that is but chances are it's maintainable.
SNXS79J1 - thoughts on this?
#1 · Hi, Just got this Seiko5 and now getting to know it. I was expecting this to look and feel good, but it's well beyond my expectations really. Do you guys have any experience with this generation of Seiko5? I understand these to be discontinued now and replaced by more capable models (more capable "movementwise", "WRwise", etc.), but really feels like the previous generation had so much more character and charm to it?
Question- Is it better to LOCK a WUS thread or totally Delete a WUS thread when things start to get complicated or controversial?
The past few weekends some unusual posts have turned complicated and maybe even controversial over common WUS etiquette issues and instead of simply locking them they get deleted and erased permanently. No history left. Wouldn't it be better to simply LOCK them so members and especially NEW member could view them without commenting and learn what is an acceptable/ good post topic, so we don’t keep repeating the same silly or nonsensical or controversial post threads over and over.
A different “My Dad's Watch” post - Refinish or not
#1 · Now to my dilemma since I inherited the watch, should I have the watch refinished or leave it as is? Clearly it was worn and my dad was rough on his watches. Scratches likely are easy to buff out but he clearly hit it on something as there’s an indentation on the first link that bent the link so it’s not flat at the case. I likely will not wear it as I don’t even wear my own vintage Santos due to the size. Would you have it refinished or leave it as is?
Is this Rado Diastar original or fake?

Please help:) Question Regarding Ulysse Nardin UN - 33 Movement
#1 · Strange questions for all of you Ulysse Nardin fans out there. I’ve recently been looking into purchasing the - Ulysse Nardin Ludwig 150th anniversary perpetual calendar 38. I think its size and looks most elegantly suit this caliber. I was about to pull the trigger on one when I noticed something strange. This watch is a limited edition of 150 pieces. I believe there were 150 in platinum, 150 in gold (and perhaps more sets of 150 with the calendar in other languages).
Teetering On The Brink Of Consolidation
I took the first step today. At our local chapter of the NAWCC, I took my pocket watches and my Hamiltons. Sold two of my pocket watches with wind indicators, and one Hamilton that was one that didn't really belong in the collection anyway (but was no less a great looking watch). No regrets so far, but it has only been a matter of hours.
RUBBER WATCH BANDS Original
So over the years I have run the gambit of different straps bracelets and natos in the summe leather and exotic leathers in the fall winter and spring when I got a watch with a rubber strap i would usually change it out than i started wearing a Garmin MK1.
