Prior work on image-guided thermal ablation (IGTA) of colorectal cancer liver metastases and hepatocellular carcinoma has demonstrated that ablation margin measurements correlate with treatment outcomes. How these measurements affect outcomes following renal mass ablation, however, remains unknown. This study assesses the relationship between treatment margins and local tumor progression (LTP) among patients with small renal masses (SRM) treated with IGTA.
Prior breast cryoablation studies have shown promising results for cryoablation for selected low-risk early-stage breast cancer, but many non-surgical candidates are excluded from these clinical trials due to unfavorable patient and tumor characteristics. This study aims to assess ipsilateral breast tumor recurrence (IBTR) after ultrasound (US)-guided percutaneous cryoablation in these suboptimal cryoablation candidates.
