Precision Mass Measurement of the Proton Dripline Halo Candidate $^{22}\mathrm{Al}$
We report the first mass measurement of the proton-halo candidate Al22 performed with the low energy beam ion trap facility’s 9.4 T Penning trap mass spectrometer at facility for rare isotope beams. This measurement completes the mass information for the lightest remaining proton-dripline nucleus achievable with Penning traps. Al22 has been the subject of recent interest regarding a possible halo structure from the observation of an exceptionally large isospin asymmetry [J.
First direct $^{7}\mathrm{Be}$ electron-capture $Q$-value measurement toward high-precision searches for neutrino physics beyond the Standard Model

Mass measurement of $^{27}\mathrm{P}$ to constrain type-I x-ray burst models and validate the isobaric multiplet mass equation for the $A=27, T=\frac{3}{2}$ isospin quartet
Background: Light curves are the primary observable of type-I x-ray bursts. Computational x-ray burst models must match simulations to observed light curves. Most of the error in simulated curves comes from uncertainties in rp process reaction rates, which can be reduced via precision mass measurements of neutron-deficient isotopes in the rp process path. Purpose: Perform a precise atomic mass measurement of P27.
Quantification and purification of isotopic contamination at the ReAccelerator of the Facility for Rare Isotope Beams
Topics Semiconductor detectors, Nuclear physics, Isobars, Accelerated beams, Heavy ion beams The ReAccelerator (ReA)1,2 at the Facility for Rare Isotope Beams (FRIB)3–5 accelerates stable and rare isotope beams from 300 keV/u to the present energy maximum of 12 MeV/u depending on the charge-to-mass ratio of the ions.
Measurements and computational analysis of the natural decay of $^{176}\mathrm{Lu}$
Abstract Background: Mainly because of its long half-life and despite its scientific relevance, spectroscopic measurements of Lu176 forbidden β decays are very limited and lack formulation of shape factors. A direct precise measurement of its Q value is also presently unreported. In addition, the description of forbidden decays provides interesting challenges for nuclear theory.
Identification of a potential ultralow-$Q$-value electron-capture decay branch in $^{75}\mathrm{Se}$ via a precise Penning trap measurement of the mass of $^{75}\mathrm{As}$
Background: Low-energy β and electron-capture (EC) decays are important systems in neutrino mass determination experiments. An isotope with an ultralow-Q-value β decay to an excited state in the daughter with Qes<1 keV could provide a promising alternative candidate for future experiments.
High-precision mass measurement of $^{24}\mathrm{Si}$ and a refined determination of the $rp$ process at the $A=22$ waiting point
COVID-19 has impacted many institutions and organizations around the world, disrupting the progress of research. Through this difficult time APS and the Physical Review editorial office are fully equipped and actively working to support researchers by continuing to carry out all editorial and peer-review functions and publish research in the journals as well as minimizing disruption to journal access.
