Direct evidence of light-induced phase-fluctuations in cuprates via time-resolved ARPES
Abstract Light perturbation of the superconducting phase of cuprates typically promotes a non-thermal, superconducting-to-normal state phase transition. Although phase fluctuations are widely accepted as playing a primary role in disrupting long-range superconducting order, an experimental probe capable of unambiguously assessing their effect with momentum and time resolutions is still lacking.
Quantum control of Hubbard excitons - Nature Materials
Abstract Quantum control of the many-body wavefunction is a central challenge in quantum materials research, as it could yield a precise control knob to manipulate emergent phenomena. Floquet engineering, the coherent dressing of quantum states with periodic non-resonant optical fields, has become an important strategy for quantum control.

Origin of light-induced metastability in ${\mathrm{ZrTe}}_{5}$
We study the nonequilibrium electronic structure of a model Dirac semimetal ZrTe5 by using time-and-angle resolved photoemission spectroscopy and density functional theory–based electron and phonon calculations.
Spin canting and lattice symmetry in ${\mathrm{La}}_{2}{\mathrm{CuO}}_{4}$
Abstract While the dominant magnetic interaction in La2CuO4 is superexchange between nearest-neighbor Cu moments, the pinning of the spin direction depends on weak anisotropic effects associated with spin-orbit coupling. The symmetry of the octahedral tilt pattern allows an out-of-plane canting of the Cu spins, which is compensated by an opposite canting in nearest-neighbor layers.
A cleanroom in a glovebox
I. INTRODUCTION Fabrication of devices at the nanoscale is central to future efforts in exploring novel quantum phases of matter and building next-generation devices. Previously, this was achieved by creating dedicated facilities where the entire space is filtered and dust minimized via special air handling and attire for all who enter.
Disappearance of superconductivity due to vanishing coupling in the overdoped Bi$$_{2}$$2Sr$$_{2}$$2CaCu$$_{2}$$2O$$_{8+\delta }$$8+δ
Abstract In cuprate superconductors, superconductivity is accompanied by a plethora of orders and phenomena that complicate our understanding of superconductivity in these materials. Prominent in the underdoped regime, these orders weaken or vanish with overdoping. Here, we approach the superconducting phase from the more conventional overdoped side.
A strongly inhomogeneous superfluid in an iron-based superconductor
Abstract Although the possibility of spatial variations in the superfluid of unconventional, strongly correlated superconductors has been suggested1,2,3,4,5,6,7, it is not known whether such inhomogeneities—if they exist—are driven by disorder, strong scattering or other factors. Here we use atomic-resolution Josephson scanning tunnelling microscopy to reveal a strongly inhomogeneous superfluid in the iron-based superconductor FeTe0.55Se0.45.
Tuning from failed superconductor to failed insulator with magnetic field
Abstract Do charge modulations compete with electron pairing in high-temperature copper oxide superconductors? We investigated this question by suppressing superconductivity in a stripe-ordered cuprate compound at low temperature with high magnetic fields. With increasing field, loss of three-dimensional superconducting order is followed by reentrant two-dimensional superconductivity and then an ultraquantum metal phase.
