Finding My Old Journals From When I Was In Love
I recently came across my old journals from when I was in love. There is one in particular that is filled, cover to cover, solely about him -- that one summer recorded in poetry. It’s a bit strange to look back on now, but each poem still hits as hard as it did when I wrote it. Revisiting this poetry is hard.
Avenue Beat: 2020 Is the Year of the Girl Band
by Gabrielle Fezza & Mackenzie Maher Yeah, fuck 2020, but Avenue Beat does make 2020 a little less fucked. Avenue Beat's insta bio might read, “the first girl group with them all ugly as fck," but they make us want to get our girl gang together and form a band as dope as theirs. What's Your November?
Inspired by Tyler the Creator. one of my favorite questions to ask others, and to ask myself. “november” is the time in your life you’d single-handedly build a time machine to go back to even if it meant you could only hold onto it for a single moment longer. tyler the creator’s “november” off his fourth studio album flower boy is pure nostalgia for three minutes and forty-six seconds.
my version of the hangover end credits
(just some motherfucking kids) recently picked up my disposables that were taken when life still felt good with the people who felt even better. these photos work best when paired with the spins by mac miller. (disclaimer: please do not party in a pandemic. these photos from this summer feature my inner circle, the only people i exposed myself to -- my coworkers who i worked every day with and drank every night with. that cycle continued all summer. working at a beach is pretty fucking dope.)
don't be sad, go get a tattoo: a photoessay
my best friend surprised me with four 40's and a tattoo gun because i was sad. Depression appears in strange forms, but somehow, so does coping. this is that night in images.
