Ganesh Pol’s Biography

Ganesh Pol is a journalist with BBC News Marathi in New Delhi, India. As a key member of the video desk since 2017, he has been instrumental in producing digital video reports that spotlight the challenges faced by India's rural population. With a Master's degree in Development and active involvement in BBC's 'Diversity and Inclusion' initiative in India since 2020, Ganesh's expertise extends beyond journalism. He has chronicled from the unprecedented migration during India's first COVID-19 lockdown to ongoing rural issues, gaining valuable insights into the complexities of rural reporting. He is also interested in indepth reporting on the impact of climate change over India's small landholding farmers.

In addition, Ganesh has co-authored the academic research paper "Living under Value Chains: The New Distributive Contract and Arguments about Unequal Bargaining Power," published in the Journal of Agrarian Change. ( https://onlinelibrary.wiley.com/doi/10.1111/joac.12466?fbclid )
