K Is in Trouble - Quill and Quire
On at least one book website you will find Gary Clement’s debut graphic novel, inspired by the writing and childhood of Franz Kafka, tagged under “Social Themes: Self-Esteem; Self-Reliance.” It’s a classification that almost certainly has never been used with, say, Kafka’s The Trial. Applied to Clement’s young character, K, as he learns independence, or at least endurance, while facing his own series of bizarre tribulations, however, it makes a delightful kind of sense.
K Is in Trouble (A Graphic Novel)
"Visual storytelling at the highest level" — The New York Times Book Review A boy named K must navigate a world of outrageously unkind adults in this hysterical, Kafkaesque middle grade graphic novel, with art reminiscent of James Marshall. K is nice, polite, and always does as he’s told. K is also always, always in trouble. No matter what he does or says, it seems there is someone ready to blame him for everything. K is in trouble for going to school. K is in trouble for staying home.

Aging Parents And Today's Generation
Growing up, there were three adults in the household and they all had their role in my life. We had a closeness that many kids today take for granted. If I needed something all I had to do was ask. If I wanted to go somewhere all I had to do was ask. We weren’t Rockefellers who had a lot of money, but at the same time we weren’t staving either. But the time that I spent with them despite having to really work hard growing up, was really a good and meaningful life.

THE HOCKEY SONG by Stompin' Tom Connors , Gary Clement | Kirkus Reviews
The Canadian classic twanging salute to hockey, visually set to a gathering of outdoor puck-slingers. Connors is a Canadian legend for his songs of the northland; in his bouncy, Western, steel-guitar style, he sang about not only hockey, but lumberjacks, snowmobiles, and all things Canadian. In winter, in Canada, where you can’t throw a puck without hitting ice, a pickup game is par for every evening’s course (and early morning, lunch, all day long).

Gary Clement on Ezra Levant
Hillary Clinton is leading Bernie Sanders 56% to 38% in the North Carolina primary. The reason: there are black people in North Carolina, and they’re not big fans of Sanders. It’s always a bad sign when Ezra Levant gets something legitimate to campaign against, which is what has happened with the Alberta government banned his media channel from press events.
Gary Clement on Trudeau’s first move
The NB finance minister fears that a combined tax approaching 60% might be too much, and could have negative consequences. Gee, like what? Why has this objectively terrible product been a staple for more than 50 years?
