How is social media changing news?
It's turning and churning the whole media industry. Social media has changed the news consumption pattern.
Who's your favorite fictional journalist?
Never thought about it.
What does it mean to be a journalist?
There is no monotony, everyday comes fresh challenges and new stories. The world does not stop, so does a journalist.
What's the funniest news-related #hashtag you've seen?
How do you prefer to be pitched on stories?
Brief of the story should be in 100 words; plus the elements, interviews and story structure. Rest should be left to discussion table.
What tools and software do you use to do your job?
Social media tools, variety of mobile software, and the usual computer softwares.
What's your favorite social network?
It was Orkut once, at the moment it's WhatsApp and Facebook. Don't know yet what will replace them in future.
Who do you wish followed you?
I would like my audience to grow. I would want more and more 'common people' to follow me.
Why did you become a journalist?
I had passionate about it from my school days.

What advice can you offer to aspiring journalists?
Journalism is about passion, be a 'keen type person' and there is always a story waiting for you to explore.
When's the best time to pitch you?
Anytime. A good story should not be on hold.
What's the best pitch you ever got?
Two stories and situations can not be equated or compared. Pitches keep coming, I won't say one is better than the other.
What's the worst pitch you ever got?
They keep coming but a bad pitch for one organisation could be a lead story for other network or hold very good in a different format.

Aside from your own, what's your favorite publication to read?
I prefer stories over publication. I pick and choose from twitter and google
What's the most common misperception about your beat?
Everyone thinks it's an easy task until they do it. There is an old saying "grass on the other side is always green", same goes for my desk.
