Both Irish XC teams traveled to Lamar to compete in the Class 3 District 2 Championship race with an opportunity to advance to the State Championship in Columbia a week later. In the cold and rain, the boys raced to a second-place finish behind eventual Class 3 state runner-up El Dorado and easily advanced while the girls grabbed the final qualifying team spot (4th overall); both teams advancing marked the first time since 2015 that Catholic traveled to the state meet with both squads.
