What was your first job as a journalist?

An intern with the South Hills Record in Pittsburgh

Have you ever used a typewriter?

I had one in grade school.

How is social media changing news?

Spread of misinformation but also of true information - a double-edged sword.

What does it mean to be a journalist?

Holding those in power accountable, informing the public and giving a voice to the community. I get paid to write; it's amazing.

What's your favorite social network?

Twitter, unfortunately!

Why did you become a journalist?

I'd like to say something noble but, honestly, I've always been incredibly nosy and loved to write. And I grew up in a house that valued news

Did you work for your high school newspaper? If so, what did you do there?

No, we didn't have one.

When's the best time to pitch you?

Mid-day.
