Detectives who launched a murder investigation after a 17-year-old boy died in a stabbing say the answers lie within Cambridge's young population. Jesse Nwokejiobi, who previously attended North Cambridge Academy, died in the vicinity of Logan's Meadow, not far from his home in Edinburgh Road, Cambridge, in what police believe was a targeted attack.

A senior paramedic has warned that for the first time in his memory "when you dial 999 for an ambulance, we're not always going to be there". Glenn Carrington, a paramedic for 36 years who is based in Cambridgeshire, said patients' lives are being put at risk due to waiting outside hospitals "for hours on end" through "no fault of paramedics or the NHS".

A spoof animated newsreader is 'translating' the words of the Greater Cambridge Partnership in the latest effort from campaigners against the Cambourne to Cambridge busway scheme. Bonkers Busway Cambs News was launched less than two weeks ago and has already gained an audience of more than 2,000 people across the social media platforms Twitter and Instagram.

A further call has been made for Cambridgeshire's mayor to stand down after external auditors found "significant weaknesses" in governance arrangements. Cllr Wayne Fitzgerald, the Conservative leader of Peterborough City Council and former Combined Authority deputy mayor, told an extraordinary meeting of the authority today (Wednesday, June 8) that Labour mayor Dr Nik Johnson should "consider stepping down and resigning because in my view, he's not fit and able to do the job as mayor of this authority".
