Former Chelsea and Aston Villa winger Bertrand Traore has joined Championship side Wolverhampton Wanderers on a one-year deal, after departing Sunderland over the summer. The 31-year-old made just 12 appearances for the Black Cats after joining them in September 2025, starting nine times and scoring once, missing much of the latter part of the season with a knee injury.
Manchester City manager Andree Jeglertz has praised the mentality of his side following their 3-1 win over Birmingham City on the opening weekend of the WSL. It took until the second half for the reigning champions to find the net, but Mary Fowler’s opener followed by a brace from Bunny Shaw saw City win comfortably by the end, Oceane Hurtre’s 90th minute goal merely a consolation for the visitors.
Nottingham Forest midfielder Ibrahim Sangare is expected to be available for selection for this weekend’s Premier League match against Tottenham Hotspur. Sangare missed last weekend’s 2-2 draw with Liverpool after sustaining a minor calf injury in training having played 90 minutes in Forest’s opening day defeat to Leeds United.
