Passenger of SUV blocking bike lane throws liquid on cyclists
This is all no fun, and it isn't really even springtime yet! As an insight, SUV drivers aren't necessarily more nor less aggressive or insensitive than other drivers. We might as easily suggest that with their higher vantage point and view of the road especially at intersections over parked cars, they are more at ease and thereby less prone to rage than folks in their cheap shorty cars wallowing in their inferiority complex and thus acting out.
Passenger of SUV blocking bike lane throws liquid on cyclists
Contributor Submitted: "I stopped in front of the vehicle to take a picture of the lady blocking the bike lane. I noticed afterwards that the that I caught the attacker in the picture. He is to the right of the car in the blue jacket. This was right out of OTC on Clinton, about 200 ft from the station. He got in my face about taking pictures of his girl's car. I told her that she was in the bike lane.

Performance Bike parent company declares bankruptcy
i believe the Lombard location will still be open, if you have a car and either live in the 'burbs or are inclined to drive out there. not really an option for me. i don't know about running out of shops...i have a couple that i really like relatively close to me, plus three more that i can think of off the top of my head within the same radius.
Turin Cycles
Seeing that reminder about Turin Cycles on this blog site reminded me of a steel road frame I bought from those folks back in the late 70's. I lived in Fort Wayne at the time and was in town on business so I stopped by their shop and liked the way the work done on the frame looked (I sold it in the mid-80's when I was a bit strapped for cash and always kinda regretted that).
Killer of Cyclists Sentenced to Life in Prison 6-11-18
Yeah, I almost forgot that today was sentencing day. Looks like the judge pretty much threw the max at him plus I heard some comments on the radio which *I think* were from the prosecuting attorney that, based on his actions and his apparent unrelenting claim to innocence, he should never be allowed to get behind the wheel of a vehicle again. And that's pretty much the crux of it - it's not about revenge, because that could be a two-way street for any of us at some point.
Saris trailer hitch mount bicycle carrier
This is the older style Saris bike rack that mounts into a Reese-type trailer hitch. The hitch size is 1.25 inch. The bike carriers are loosened with a hex key wrench and fold down when not in use. Includes a hitch pin that may be locked into place. This hitch is heavy, too heavy to ship. Looking for a buyer someplace in the Chicagoland metro area for delivery. Something like $40-$50 might be a fair price, depending on buyers examination. Tags: ▶ Reply to This

Surly Long Haul Trucker--Advice
Hi, I am thinking about buying a used LHT that I would not be able to see or try before buying it. It seems to be a decent deal but I have some questions. I've heard for years that they are great bikes but have not ridden one myself. I am looking for a good quality road bike that will be comfortable for distance touring. So if you ride a Surly Long Haul Trucker, could you please mention what you like about it? Do you find it heavy? And if you ride the 52cm size, how tall are you? Tags: ▶ Reply to This
