‘The Accountant²’ review by GeraldBourguet • Letterboxd
The Accountant² ★★★½ -Pure popcorn entertainment devoid of greater purpose -Despite another random, lackluster plot that's almost entirely unrelated to the original, this sequel is a lot more fun, action-packed, and doesn't take itself so seriously -Ben Affleck and Jon Bernthal are an enjoyable pairing, and the film thrives when it leans into their comedic chemistry -Contains a few well-executed twists to keep things interesting, but its nonsensical crime webs and aura-less antagonist...

‘The Amateur’ review by GeraldBourguet • Letterboxd
The Amateur ★★★ -Aggressively average spy thriller that never fully taps into Rami Malek's greatness as film's current gauche GOAT -This is mostly because the trailers give away the biggest moments and set pieces that might've landed otherwise -Essentially a movie version of Mr. Robot, but much worse -Laurence Fishburne is mostly fine in a restrained role, but Jon Bernthal and Rachel Brosnahan are so criminally under-utilized that they basically amount to cameos -Not enough work went into...
Where Suns stack up in West in 2025-26 NBA Power Rankings
Apr 9, 2025; Phoenix, Arizona, USA; Phoenix Suns guard Devin Booker (1) and Oklahoma City Thunder forward Chet Holmgren (7) push for position during the first half at Footprint Center. Mandatory Credit: Mark J. Rebilas-Imagn Images The dust has mostly settled on the NBA offseason, which means we more or less know what each team’s roster will look like, as well as where they stack up compared to the rest of the league.
‘Weapons’ review by GeraldBourguet • Letterboxd
Weapons ★★★★½ Liked -One of the most unique horror movies in quite a while and most fun moviegoing experiences of the year, establishing Zach Cregger as one of the leading voices in this genre -It may not deliver on the fright that its compelling hook seems to imply is coming, but there are enough disturbing sequences and jump scares to satisfy most horror fans -Even better, it crafts a different, uncanny blend that works surprisingly well thanks to an unsettling premise, its vignette-styled...
3 areas Jalen Green must improve to fit with Devin Booker
Everyone knows that Devin Booker is the straw that stirs the Phoenix Suns‘ drink. Now that the Kevin Durant trade has returned him to the role of “undisputed No. 1 option” on offense, Book will be the driving force behind the Suns’ successes and failures this season. But no one is more important among Booker’s teammates than Jalen Green, and how he fits next to the face of the franchise will ultimately determine this group’s offensive punch.

‘Happy Gilmore 2’ review by GeraldBourguet • Letterboxd
Happy Gilmore 2 ★★★ -More or less exactly what you’d expect in 2025 from an unnecessary sequel to Adam Sandler’s comedy classic -Sandler’s patented lowbrow humor doesn’t translate as well these days, leaving this followup to sustain itself with a barrage of cameos and nostalgia-dependent callbacks -I’m all for dumb humor, but most of the jokes that actually land are just borrowed and repackaged from the original -The father-daughter dynamic in relation to Julie Bowen’s character (and the...
A ★★★★½ review of The Fantastic Four: First Steps (2025)
The Fantastic Four: First Steps ★★★★½ Liked -Easily the best movie Marvel's produced in years -Delivers some fun superhero action and space sequences wrapped in a neat retro aesthetic, but it relies less on big CGI spectacle and more on establishing emotional stakes that are grounded in likable characters, the relationships they build and its themes about family and parenthood -Pedro Pascal is perfectly cast, Ebon Moss-Bachrach and Joseph Quinn are excellent doses of comic relief and deeper...

‘28 Years Later’ review by GeraldBourguet • Letterboxd
28 Years Later ★★★★½ Liked -One of the best movies of the year, which can be enjoyed at face value as a post-apocalyptic zombie thriller or for its deeper symbolism and social commentary on Brexit, the COVID pandemic, British imperialism and toxic masculinity -Immersive world-building and gripping action sequences that harken back to the original's stylistic kill shots -Stunning cinematography and special effects, like one heart-stopping chase sequence set beneath the "Northern Lights" that...

‘Black Bag’ review by GeraldBourguet • Letterboxd
Black Bag ★★★★ Liked -Stylish, clever spy thriller from Steven Soderbergh that riffs on the genre without succumbing to its tropes -Makes the most of its brisk 90-minute runtime, zipping through each new development to stay one step ahead of the audience...and possibly leave some viewers behind -Michael Fassbender and Cate Blanchett dominate the proceedings, injecting life into their leads with meticulous details that would be wasted if not for the intelligent writing that characterizes...
‘Snow White’ review by GeraldBourguet • Letterboxd
Snow White ★★½ -Arguably Disney's worst live adaptation yet -While this classic's outdated story receives a needed facelift, the end result feels bloated and forgettable -Only one of the new songs actually stands out, and outside of "Heigh-Ho," the marquee tunes fail to land -It's funny how many right-wing idiots review-bombed this film for its casting and its main star being "too woke," when in reality it's so bad because Gal Gadot is a comically horrendous actress who single-handedly tanks...
What if the Suns won the coin toss?
In the modern NBA, it takes a great deal of talent, calculation and luck to win a championship. As far as the calculation part goes, there are so many numbers, percentages and figures that go into it, both on the court with analytics and off the court with all that salary cap maneuvering. But back in 1969, the Phoenix Suns‘ odds of winning a title sat squarely at 50-50. Win a simple coin toss for Kareem Abdul-Jabbar, and you’d be guaranteed at least one championship. Lose that coin toss, and, well….
Suns embrace new dawn after Kevin Durant, Bradley Beal gone
The outlook in the Valley as has been dark for a while now, but after Bradley Beal’s buyout and the Kevin Durant trade from a few weeks ago, the sun has officially set on the Big 3 era. With it, comes a new dawn for the Phoenix Suns. Granted, hardly anyone outside the state of Arizona is viewing this about-face as a positive, and even the most optimistic of fans can admit the last few years have been brutal.
Suns use stretch provision
From a financial and roster-building standpoint, the Phoenix Suns had a Bradley Beal problem. On Wednesday, they opted for a buyout, which means a Bradley Beal waive-and-stretch will likely become their solution to that problem. The Suns have until Aug. 30 to officially pull the trigger, but multiple Suns sources who spoke with PHNX Sports said that is “99 percent” likely to be the path.
What if Robert Horry hip check on Steve Nash never happened?
The only thing more agonizing than knowing how something in life would’ve turned out differently if not for a traumatic event is not knowing how it would’ve turned out. Few incidents in Arizona sports history sum that conundrum up better than the infamous Robert Horry hip check on Steve Nash.
What Suns can expect from rookie
Nov 20, 2023; Lexington, Kentucky, USA; Saint Joseph's Hawks forward Rasheer Fleming (13) goes to the basket against Kentucky Wildcats guard Justin Edwards (1) during the first half at Rupp Arena at Central Bank Center. Mandatory Credit: Jordan Prather-USA TODAY Sports Rasheer Fleming was a first-round talent, and after their day-one draft maneuvers, the Phoenix Suns were wise (and aggressive) to move back to the top of the second round in order to take him with the 31st overall pick.
What if the Suns had drafted Luka Doncic over Deandre Ayton?
For the first time in their 50-year history as a franchise, the Phoenix Suns held the No. 1 overall pick in the 2018 NBA Draft. And by taking Deandre Ayton over Luka Doncic, they became the living embodiment of “this is why we can’t have nice things.” It’s a phrase that might as well be the tagline for Arizona sports in general, but this one cut especially deep.
Addressing Suns' big move
On Wednesday, the Phoenix Suns officially announced a new, multi-year Devin Booker contract extension. While the amount was undisclosed, ESPN’s Shams Charania had reported on Tuesday evening that the Suns would be tacking on an extra two years and $145 million on his contract. Booker was already owed $171.2 million over the next three years, but this deal would extend his commitment to Phoenix — and vice-versa — through the 2029-30 season.
Devin Booker Signs $145 Million Extension
Devin Booker has signed an extension with the Phoenix Suns. This move coming before the expected waive-and-stretch of Bradley Beal and after the trade of Kevin Durant. Suns' Brian Gregory shows alignment with 2025 NBA Draft haul

Rebilas-Imagn Images It's too early for any Brian Gregory victory laps just yet, but for those wondering how the Phoenix Suns could possibly pivot from last year's disappointing, aimless team while actively shopping their best player, that last few days have provided some much-needed clarity.
Why Suns added Khaman Maluach, Mark Williams in NBA Draft
Mere minutes after it became apparent that Khaman Maluach would be available for the Phoenix Suns at No. 10 in the 2025 NBA Draft, ESPN’s Shams Charania dropped an unexpected ShamsBomb: The Suns were also trading for center Mark Williams. After spending an entire season cycling through Jusuf Nurkic, Mason Plumlee, rookie Oso Ighodaro and then Nick Richards at the 5, Phoenix upgraded its center rotation in a matter of minutes Wednesday night — all while getting younger and more athletic.
5 Suns prospects to consider at 29th pick in 2025 NBA Draft

5 Suns prospects to consider at 10th pick in 2025 NBA Draft
So much for the Phoenix Suns not having any draft picks, huh? After adding two rookies in last year's draft, the Suns enter the 2025 NBA Draft with four picks in the wake of the admittedly underwhelming Kevin Durant trade. In addition to the No. 29 overall pick from Cleveland that they've been prepping for for a while, the Suns got their own selection, the 10th overall pick, back from the Houston Rockets.
What Suns can expect from new arrival
Mar 12, 2025; Houston, Texas, USA; Houston Rockets guard Jalen Green (4) dribbles the ball as Phoenix Suns guard Devin Booker (1) defends during the third quarter at Toyota Center. Mandatory Credit: Troy Taormina-Imagn Images Aside from five second-round draft picks, the Phoenix Suns got three main pieces from the Houston Rockets as part of Sunday's reported Kevin Durant trade. The most valuable is arguably the No. 10 pick in this year's draft, which was their own selection that Phoenix got back.
What to make of Suns trade, what's next
By definition, the mere existence of a Kevin Durant trade was always going to be a loss for the Phoenix Suns. After all they gave up to acquire Durant in 2023, and given how little the team accomplished during his two-and-a-half-year tenure in the Valley, only a serious haul could’ve overshadowed the inherent defeat of moving on from an all-time great — and even then, it would’ve come with the unmistakable disappointment of skyrocketing expectations (and payrolls) falling by the wayside.
Suns' best return from each suitor
Mar 26, 2025; Phoenix, Arizona, USA; Phoenix Suns forward Kevin Durant (35) looks on against the Boston Celtics during the second half at Footprint Center. Mandatory Credit: Rick Scuteri-Imagn Images Now that the Phoenix Suns have hired a new general manager and a new head coach, their full attention turns back to Kevin Durant trades ahead of next week's NBA Draft. Rumors have been swirling for months now, and as is always the case around this time of year, leaks are a matter of subterfuge.

Phoenix hires Jordan Ott as Suns head coach on 4-year deal
After a comprehensive search that included more than a dozen candidates, the Phoenix Suns have hired their next head coach in Jordan Ott. As first reported by ESPN’s Shams Charania Wednesday morning, the Suns opted to make Ott their first-year head coach, choosing the Cleveland Cavaliers assistant over their other finalist, fellow Cavs assistant Johnnie Bryant. According to Arizona Sports’ John Gambadoro, Ott has agreed to a four-year deal.
‘The Substance’ review by GeraldBourguet • Letterboxd
★★★★ Liked -Gripping body horror rife with overt symbolism to hammer home its message about the absurd and harmful beauty standards of a patriarchal society dominated by the male gaze, vanity, and even feminine self-hatred -Its grotesque depictions are darkly comical, scathingly cynical and increasingly more ludicrous as it ratchets up to a saddening and inevitable conclusion that leaves blood on everyone's hands before the cycle begins all over again -Demi Moore gives the best performance of...

Mandatory Credit: Vincent Carchietta-Imagn Images Royce O'Neale and Grayson Allen trades are hardly the top priority for new general manager Brian Gregory at the moment. Now that the Phoenix Suns have their new GM in place, Gregory will have a laundry list of tasks for his busy first summer with the team.

Over the course of 37 minutes, the 58-year-old GM spoke at length about his Michigan State connections with owner Mat Ishbia, the values and identity he intends to implement, his qualifications for the job, and plenty more.
Everything you need to know about new Suns GM

Bob Myers, Bradley Beal future, 5 Suns offseason predictions
The Phoenix Suns offseason is here in full force, much sooner than expected.
