Gerald Lwande is a Biomedical Scientist focusing on Sports and Pharmacogenomics Research, bioinformatics and emerging technologies such as artificial intelligence in healthcare. Gerald holds a Bachelor of Sciences degree in Biomedical Sciences and Technology (with Information Technology); a Master of Science in Pharmaceutical Science from Maseno University and was also an exchange student in Biomedical Laboratory Sciences at Tampere University of Applied Science (TAMK) in Finland. Furthermore, Gerald has been a laboratory Quality Control and Assurance Manager in the NIH-DAIDS funded AIDS Clinical Trials Group (ACTG) at the Moi University Clinical Research Center in Eldoret-Kenya. Currently, Gerald is the director and founder of Precise Genomics Research and Diagnostic Laboratories in Eldoret-Kenya where he offers cutting edge Biotechnology, Therapeutic Drug Monitoring, and diagnostic services to both hospitals and academic institutions. He is currently part of the COVID-19 trials team in Western Kenya.
Gerald is also a science communicator who often writes for the national newspapers (Nation and The Standard) and appears in local Kenyan television stations (KTN and Citizen).
