Six months ago, I merged a pull request that Claude Code generated in about eight minutes. Feature worked perfectly. Tests passed. The implementation followed the existing patterns in the codebase. I reviewed the diff, approved it, and moved on. Last week, I had to modify that feature. I opened the file and realized I had no idea how half of it worked. Not because the code was bad. It was actually well-structured. But I had never written it. I had never thought through the design decisions.
