Anthony Cardenales traveled to Eastern Correctional Facility in Napanoch, New York to attend Bard Prison Initiative’s 10th graduation ceremony. The program allows incarcerated men and women to obtain degrees from Bard College.
Anthony Cardenales is a graduate.
In 2003, when Bard arrived at the medium-security Woodbourne Correctional Facility in Woodbourne, New York, Cardenales had already been incarcerated for more than a decade and had completed every educational program available at the prison. Knowing that the job prospects for an ex-con were dismal at best, he wanted to make himself as marketable as possible upon his release.

(CNN) -- In the early days of "Sesame Street" -- that is, B.E. (Before Elmo) -- Sesame Street was a pretty grimy place. (CNN) -- The movie "Big" is celebrating its 25th anniversary, but the 1988 blockbuster almost didn't become the movie beloved by audiences today. For starters, Tom Hanks originally turned down the lead, writers were seriously considering the title "When I Grow Up," and producers had trouble attaching a director to the picture. "Tom Hanks was my first choice but he said 'no,' " director Penny Marshall told CNN, "and so did everyone else because there were other movies with the same premise. So I decided to go with someone who's a behavioral actor -- Bob DeNiro."

The Care Bears turn 30 this year, and they're also preparing for a TV comeback. Initially created as a greeting card line at American Greetings in 1982, the lovable, pastel-colored bears hit it big from 1983-1988, wherein there existed a Care Bears cartoon show on television, a full range of toys and products, and three movies. Since 1988, however, the Care Bears have slipped in and out of vogue with various attempts to re-brand the franchise.

Inconceivable! How 'The Princess Bride' almost didn't get made

"She gets kidnapped, he gets killed. But it all turns out OK." So says screenwriter William Goldman in an interview featured in the extras of the new 25th anniversary Blu-ray of "The Princess Bride." Goldman also wrote the novel that the film is based on, and when he set out to write the book, one of his daughters asked him to write a story about a princess and the other asked him to write a story about a bride. The title was Goldman's proverbial "As you wish" to both girls.
