You have requested the following content: Canadian Journal of Chemistry, e-First Article : pp. 1-7 Giovanni Donato, Andrew P. Grosvenor https://doi.org/10.1139/cjc-2020-0234 Abstract Glass–ceramic composite materials are composed of ceramic crystallites within a glass matrix. These materials have been suggested as nuclear waste forms; however, the formation of targeted crystal phases remains a challenge to utilizing these materials as waste forms.

Incidence of acute myocarditis and pericarditis during the... : Journal of Cardiovascular Medicine
Introduction Cardiovascular damage occurred in up to 30% of patients during the coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) pandemic caused by SARS-CoV-2 infection, and was related to higher disease severity.1 Myocarditis, stroke, various thrombotic events, and myocardial infarction were the most frequently reported cardiovascular consequences of SARS-CoV-2.2 Myocarditis has been proposed to account for a proportion of cardiac injury.
Autonomic, functional, skeletal muscle, and cardiac abnormalities are associated with increased ergoreflex sensitivity in mitochondrial disease
Mitochondrial disease (MD) is a genetic disorder affecting skeletal muscles, with possible myocardial disease. The ergoreflex, sensitive to skeletal muscle work, regulates ventilatory and autonomic responses to exercise. We hypothesized the presence of an increased ergoreflex sensitivity in MD patients, its association with abnormal ventilatory and autonomic responses, and possibly with subclinical cardiac involvement.
