How is social media changing news?

Social media have made news more fluid and disintermediated. At the same time, they have amplified noise and overload. In this environment, journalism still plays a crucial role — helping people navigate and make sense of an excess of information.

What does it mean to be a journalist?

Being a journalist means being a humble servant of the truth, and an attentive reader of the world.

Who do you wish followed you?

Curious and demanding readers, people who are not satisfied with simple answers and are willing to look beyond the surface.

Why did you become a journalist?

I became a journalist out of a need to understand and to tell things as they are, especially when they are not easy to see or to say.I have

Did you work for your high school newspaper? If so, what did you do there?

Yes, I was the editor of my high school newspaper at Liceo Tito Livio — my first experience of a newsroom.

What story are you most proud of writing or working on?

I am most proud of the stories that take time — investigations that require access, trust and careful work with sources, often on sensitive or underreported issues. Alongside this, I focus on deeply personal interviews, creating the conditions for people to open up and speak with honesty. Some of my most relevant work has come from combining these two approaches.

What advice can you offer to aspiring journalists?

Build a wide and reliable network of sources, and take the time to cultivate it. Be curious, but also patient — the best stories rarely come

When you're not at a computer, where are you most likely to be?

Reading, listening to music — often live, in theatres — sharing a glass of wine with friends, and spending time with the people I love.
