What was your first job as a journalist?

Fresh out of college I worked a Dow Jones News Fund internship with Alabama Media Group in Mobile, AL.

Will McAvoy from The Newsroom.

What does it mean to be a journalist?

To be a journalist is to be a public servant -- to keep people informed and hold authorities accountable.

What's your favorite social network?

Twitter, because it allows me to connect with people I might never have met otherwise.

Why did you become a journalist?

I became a journalist because I wanted to write, but didn't want to be a starving novelist. No one told me the journalists were starving too!

When you're not at a computer, where are you most likely to be?

With my nose in a book!
