What advice can you offer to aspiring journalists?
Just write, work on your craft. Edit, edit, edit your own content, makes you a better writer. Read voraciously. Have a blog and stay curious.

Typos, form letters with text about the pitch before, uninformed/poorly researched pitches

What's the most common misperception about your beat?
I'm a travel writer. Everyone things its just all fun and easy. They don't see the hours put into it away from the awesome trips.
