Grace Lyden
Grace Lyden’s Biography
Grace Lyden is a senior at the University of Missouri pursuing a double major in music and journalism. She has worked as a news reporter for the student radio station, KCOU, and student newspaper, The Maneater, during her time in Columbia. She was also a reporter for the Columbia Missourian in the spring and fall semesters of 2012, and she will be copy editing for the Missourian in the fall of 2013.
Grace won her first musical award in 2003, when she was named the KVNO Classical Kid of Omaha, and she went on to win the MTNA Senior Piano Competition for Nebraska in her junior year of high school. In Grace’s freshman year at MU, she was selected as an Emerging Artist, and she won the MU Concerto Competition the following year. Grace is a piano teacher for the Community Music Program and started the Yoga for Musicians class. She is also a yoga instructor at MizzouRec.
Last summer, Grace merged her interests of journalism and music when she worked for the Aspen Music Festival and School as the publications intern, and she is working in the same position this summer.
