Kyle Busch’s legacy gets a smoky exclamation point in Charlotte
(Greg Engle, CupScene.com) Despite the pleas of rain, rain go away, it in fact refused to do so Saturday in Charlotte, North Carolina. This gave those in the NASCAR industry a rare Saturday off. And gave them, and fans alike, more time to reflect on the events of the previous evening. KANSAS CITY, KANSAS - SEPTEMBER 25: NASCAR Cup Series driver, Ryan Blaney speaks to the media during a press conference at Kansas Speedway on September 25, 2026 in Kansas City, Kansas. (Photo by Jonathan Bachman/Getty Images) Almost a week ago, Ryan Blaney and Carson Hocevar were throwing punches at Bristol Motor Speedway. Friday at Kansas Speedway, they were practically complimenting each other. Well, NASCAR relationships are complicated.

Bristol remembers Rowdy as Kyle Busch’s family turns a race into a tribute
NASCAR has plenty of race tracks. Kyle Busch had Bristol. It was the place where he became one of the most successful drivers in the history of the revered half-mile, collecting a record 23 victories across NASCAR’s three national divisions. It was also a place where Busch seemed to thrive on the noise, the lights, the short-track violence and, naturally, the reaction from the fans. On Saturday night, Bristol gave some of that love back. The tribute to Busch was impossible to miss.

Other times, it is a large metal object with which NASCAR hits you directly in the forehead. At Bristol Motor Speedway on Friday, Larson got the pleasant version.
Carson Hocevar would rather talk to fans than stare at an Excel sheet
MADISON, ILLINOIS - SEPTEMBER 13: Carson Hocevar, driver of the #77 Spectrum Chevrolet, takes a selfie with fans after the NASCAR Cup Series Enjoy Illinois 300 at WWT Raceway on September 13, 2026 in Madison, Illinois. There’s the money. There’s the prestige.
Bristol gets messy and Sheldon Creed gets another trophy
BRISTOL, TENNESSEE - SEPTEMBER 18: Sheldon Creed, driver of the #00 Ollie's Chevrolet, celebrates after winning the NASCAR O'Reilly Auto Parts Series Food City 300 at Bristol Motor Speedway on September 18, 2026 in Bristol, Tennessee. That is considerably better.

Watch as NASCAR O’Reilly drivers turn pit road into a demolition derby
There are certain things you expect to see during a NASCAR race at World Wide Technology Raceway. Cars will slide through the corners. Tires will wear out. Somebody will complain about somebody else’s driving. And, eventually, someone will probably throw a water bottle. What you don’t generally expect is the entire pit road to become a demolition derby.
