Trump to be nominated speaker of the house
Response to onenote (Reply #12) Wed Oct 4, 2023, 11:05 AM I'd be curious if 50% of the members would vote to do so though. Even if they did, I imagine there would be at least six republicans who would vote with all the Democrats in voting against Trump as Speaker of the House. Former President Trump on Wednesday said he would be willing to testify in his own defense at a potential trial. Conservative radio host Hugh Hewitt asked Trump if he would testify if he has to go to trial as the former president faces criminal charges in New York, Florida, Georgia and Washington, D.C. “Oh, yes, absolutely,” Trump responded. “You’ll take the stand?” Hewitt asked. “That, I would do.

Trump federal election trial set for March 4, 2024
Response to BumRushDaShow (Original post) Mon Aug 28, 2023, 11:52 AM Even if the judge had set the date to March 4, 2034 they would still argue it's not enough time to prepare, thus can't provide adequate representation, thus not a fair trial, blah blah blah. Setting up future appeals which, given our two tier system of "justice", means he never sees the inside of a prison cell or ANY MEANINGFUL CONSEQUENCES.

Ukrainians Are Cutting Open U.S. Cluster Shells To Make Drone Munitions

There are certain fixed costs for college - both facilility and people (courses which have to be offered, administative roles which have to be filled) regardless of how many students there are. If there are fewer students the per-capita costs go up.

Response to DENVERPOPS (Reply #2) Tue Mar 7, 2023, 04:44 PM 18. He's highly unlikely to get a dishonorable discharge If his chain of command wanted to make a point, they could court marshal him for rioting or being away without leave (which he will be while in civilian prison) and discharge him with a bad-conduct-discharge if found guilty. More likely, they will just administratively separate him under other-than-honorable conditions.
Russian armored troops - Invincible?? -
Response to DetroitLegalBeagle (Reply #1) Wed Feb 22, 2023, 11:44 AM 3. A 50 caliber bullet has about the same energy as a car traveling at 15-20 mph. It may or may not be possible to create armor preventing that sort of projectile from penetrating a human body, but even if it were possible it would be way to heavy and unwieldy to do anything useful in and it wouldn't prevent someone from being violently slammed into a nearby wall or thrown to the ground courtesy of Newton's third law.

Response to Swede (Original post) Sun Feb 12, 2023, 01:10 PM 2. I would find that rather discouraging. Notice that, in the beginning, all of the tanks were driving in each other's tracks. You would hate to be the lead dog on that team. The driving in a straight line sure makes it easy for the artillery. Get the windage right once and let the party start. Take out the first and last tank and let the slaughter begin. The Soviets, during WWII, used a similar process to clear anti-personnel mines.
