Gregory Clay’s Biography
""HELLO THERE: (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DRLIo0B864M)
This is Gregory Clay in Washington D.C.
FIRSTLY, I have never met a stranger. That's one of the advantages of being in the media industry. You are so accustomed to speaking to and engaging with people.
That's a major plus in this environment of teamwork and team goals.
And a major plus for an editor/writer, with my story links at the bottom of this file.
I wrote the most downloaded, regular website story at McClatchy-Tribune Information Services in the aftermath of the death of Osama bin Laden in 2011, the year he was killed by the U.S. Navy SEALs team.
I once called Major League Baseball icon Hank Aaron to confirm a fact about his career when checking an article written by another writer.
My customer-service capabilities at McClatchy were a true testament to my work ethic and dedication.
And because of my editing and writing career, my experience and passion would be ideal for this position. Furthermore, my television commentary assignments have helped me in public speaking and quick-thinking capabilities. In my previous job, I assigned and worked with freelance writers to produce much-valued content on historical, specific, and timely topics. I also produced a variety of ideas for special projects, including a package of stories and photos on the 50th anniversary of the assassination of President John F. Kennedy of 1963, the 50th anniversary of the March on Washington of 1963 and the 50th anniversary of the Beatles' British Invasion of the United States of 1964.
Additionally, I have a background in biological sciences from my college days. My classes in medical etymology and physiology have been valuable assets during my editing and writing career.
All of the factors above explain why I chose to apply for this position.
With that, I firmly believe a new role would allow me an opportunity to utilize the skills mentioned above to assimilate into a new work environment, perform at a high level and reap the fruits of a rewarding challenge for the next phase of my career.
CORDIALLY,
Gregory Clay
