Audiobooks can be more appealing than TV version of same story
"Treasure State," out Sept. 27, is the sixth in C.J. Box's series featuring Cassie Dewell, a private investigator in Bozeman, Montana. Early on, staking out the house of a suspected insurance scammer, Cassie describes herself as middle-aged and overweight. (She's trying but failing to kick a mini-doughnut habit.) Hard as she is on herself, Cassie is easy to love, tracking a cad who charms wealthy women to steal their money, a case that caused the mysterious disappearance of a previous PI.
A Prayer for Owen Meany
If I could choose one phrase to summarize this masterpiece, I couldn't do better than the title of Jan's review - "Not written - crafted...exquisitely" (nicely said, Jan!). Although APFOM has an interesting plot and a shattering ending, if you read this book just for the story, you will miss the best part; APFOM is truly a modern classic with some of the best and most engaging use of literary devices and provocative thought I've ever seen. To list a few: 1.

The Decline and Fall of the Roman Empire
Would you recommend this book to a friend? Why or why not? No, far too long of a listen, II would much sooner recommend someone listen to the history of rome podcast before this book. What was most disappointing about Edward Gibbon’s story? He often seems to go off topic, in to long winded stories of little or no value to the overall book. The book is written for an audience many generations dead, with language and references that are not easily picked up.

also comes to mind. After an introduction, which aims to reset the narrative of business, the book is broken into several sections on making practical changes to the way a business works: - Higher Purpose - Stakeholder Integration - Conscious Leadership - Conscious Culture and Management The book pulls together a lot of thinking from a range of very diverse sources.
Grover's Audiobook Blog
Don't be afraid of this book! It's not a judgemental, do-as-I-do morality shakedown. It's really a lovely story about a man who struggled to find his own path in life, and along the way we get to open our minds a bit about money, debt, the "American dream," religion, sexuality and other pertinent issues. This story has had remarkable staying power since its initial publication in March of this year.
