Understanding (photo)electrocatalysis for the conversion of methane to valuable chemicals through partial oxidation processes
Understanding (photo)electrocatalysis for the conversion of methane to valuable chemicals through partial oxidation processes Love Kumar Dhandole, Sang Hoon Kim and Gun-hee Moon Abstract Methane (CH4) with sp3 hybridization is known as a main constituent of natural gas, which has been utilized as a fuel and a hydrogen reservoir for power plant and transportation applications.
A Highly‐Efficient Oxygen Evolution Electrocatalyst Derived from a Metal‐Organic Framework and Ketjenblack Carbon Material
Abstract The composite of the metal-organic framework (MOF) Ni(Fe)-MOF-74 and the highly conductive carbon material ketjenblack (KB) could be easily obtained from the in-situ MOF synthesis in a one-step solvothermal reaction. The composite material features a remarkable electrochemical oxygen evolution reaction (OER) performance where the overpotential at 10 mA/cm2 and the current density at 1.7 VRHE are recorded as 0.274 VRHE and 650 mA/cm2, respectively, in 1 mol/L KOH.
Biomimetic photocatalysts for the conversion of aqueous- and gas-phase nitrogen species to molecular nitrogen via denitrification and ammonia oxidation
Biomimetic photocatalysts for the conversion of aqueous- and gas-phase nitrogen species to molecular nitrogen via denitrification and ammonia oxidation Cheolwoo Park, Hyelim Kwak, Gun-hee Moon and Wooyul Kim Abstract Denitrification and anaerobic ammonium oxidation (anammox) are important biological processes of the nitrogen cycle that help to preserve the global ecosystem.

Photoinduced charge transfer processes in solar photocatalysis based on modified TiO2
High efficiency solar photocatalysis requires an effective separation of photogenerated charge carriers and their rapid transport to the semiconductor interface. The mechanisms and kinetics of charge separation and interfacial/interparticle charge transfers (CT) are significantly influenced by both the bulk and surface properties of the semiconductor. The surface properties are particularly important because the photocatalysis should be driven by the interfacial CT.
