LONDON: Custodians of cricket laws, the MCC, on Tuesday said Tests should continue to be a five-day affair though it sees "some benefits" of ICC's proposal to trim the longest format to four days. "Cricket committee and MCC World Cricket committee have recently discussed the issue and although they can see some benefits that four-day Test cricket could bring, both committees believe that Test cricket should continue to be played over five days," said the MCC in a statement.

WASHINGTON: The US treasury department on Monday dropped its designation of China as a currency manipulator days before top officials of the world's two largest economies were due to sign a preliminary trade agreement to ease an 18-month-old tariff war. The widely expected decision came in a long-delayed semi-annual currency report, reversing an unexpected move by treasury secretary Steven Mnuchin last August at the height of US-China trade tensions.
Sebi defers decision to spilt CMD post
MUMBAI: Markets regulator Sebi on Monday deferred the deadline by two years to April 1, 2022 for top 500 firms to separate the roles of chairman and MD/CEO. There was intense pressure from top corporates and PSUs, some even approached the finance ministry to get the deadline pushed, despite Sebi giving the corporates over two years to comply. The rule was aimed primarily at improving the corporate governance structure of listed companies.

DU will not have entrance-based admission for any new course

Babson College said Asheen Phansey was fired because the post on his "personal Facebook page does not represent the values and culture of the College", according to WBZ television. He had apologised for the post last week calling it "sloppy humour" that was "read as a threat".
