Communication is recognized as a core professional competency in emergency medicine education [1]. Residency training prepares physicians not only to make timely clinical decisions under uncertainty but also to communicate effectively with patients, families, and interprofessional teams [1, 2]. Within competency-based medical education (CBME), communication should be intentionally developed and assessed across training [3-5].
Patients with hidradenitis suppurativa (HS) often report opportunistic infections such as herpes and urinary tract infections. To compare opportunistic infections in patients with HS against a group of healthy controls (HCs). In total, 99 patients with HS and 109 HCs were recruited at random to this retrospective case–control study. We devised a questionnaire to explore the frequency of minor infections, general practitioner (GP) visits and sick days experienced during the past 6 months.
