Dero Goi - What You Hear Is What You Get
Dero Goi is the former frontman of ‘Neue Deutsche Härte’ (new German hardness) pioneers OOMPH!. He has released the stunning title track of his upcoming debut solo album, ‘1984’, as a single. Solemn and melancholic, yet crowned with a beautifully spherical refrain, the song is complemented by an animated video that reflects the apocalyptic outlook of its lyric and much of the album content.

FREYA BEER - Better Not Be Flaky
With Jekyll and Hyde-like arrangements, that veer from Beabadoobee-esque bubblegum/pop to blistering Garbage-style grunge/rock in the thump of a heartbeat; the single arrives as a thrilling curve-ball from London’s rising Gothic-pop chanteuse. With a subject matter as deceiving as its devious melodies, Freya says of “False Hope”: ““False Hope” is about coming across individuals who promise the world to you but fail to present.
Night Nail - Trust The Process
Berlin-based darkwave act Night Nail have released a remix album entitled ‘Fates Remade’. A track-by-track remodelling of their 2023 studio album, ‘Fates Explained’, it features remixes from a tour de force line-up of current Post-Punk and Darkwave creatives that include Bestial Mouths, Bedless Bones, A State of Flux, Kill Shelter, Gianmarco Silvetti, iamnoone, Antipole (produced by Pedro Code of IAMTHESHADOW), The Neuro Farm, A Cloud of Ravens, VV & The Void and ROKI.
CROWJANE - Grim Yet Hopeful
Taken from her Bound To Me EP that was released in 2023, “Nomad” is powered by a thunderous rhythm section and a lower-octaved keyboard that allows CrowJane’s piercing and ethereal vocals to weave in and out of the rhythmic dirge, capturing the elegiac aura of post-punk artists Xmal Deutschland and March Violets before her. “The song ‘Nomad’ in a nutshell is about war, the ceaseless spilling of blood, and the aftermath,” she explains.
Haujobb - A Slo-Mo Banger
German electro-industrial mainstays Haujobb have just dropped the sinister sounding retro-futuristic slo-mo banger ‘In The Headlights’ as the first single from their forthcoming new album, ‘The Machine In The Ghost’. Scheduled for release on 20th September, it is the 10th full length record by the Prague-based group, which formed in 1992 and has existed as the duo of Daniel Myer (vocals/programming) and Dejan Samardzic (programming) since the mid-‘90s.

Front woman Shannon Shaw says, “We have been yearning to get back to the UK and Europe and are so excited to be returning later this year.
DAILY THOMPSON - Nothing To Prove
This album sounds like Seattle in every note and brings back the feeling for the music of this city and the dreamy lover’s view of the 90s. Grunge, alternative, stoner, a little fuzz, a little psychedelic. DAILY THOMPSON are music nerds and collectors of this decade, so it was a matter of the heart for them to record their sixth album exactly where the roots of this music can be found.
Carillo - A Dose Of Self Irony
Carillo, a former Finnish girl band, now an auntie band, formed in 1987, made a spectacular comeback in 2023 at Rytmikorjaamo, Seinäjoki. The debut vinyl, bearing the band’s name Carillo, was released back in 1988 by French label New Wave Records and the two-track 7″ single ‘2h+kk’ was released in 1993 via Cessu Records. Now, more than 30 years after the previous release, this auntie-turned-band released a new single ‘Mun vaihdevuodet (My Menopause) to celebrate Women’s Day.
yelworC - Gloomy Synths And Abrasive Beats
Having issued several early demo tapes, yelworC eventually released a debut album in 1992 and an EP the following year, but van Reich then left the band. Devin subsequently recorded two further albums alone in 2004 and 2007. Seventeen years on, Metropolis Records has just released ‘The Ghosts I Called’, a brand new and captivating collection recorded by Devin over a ten year period. It follows a set of four recent vinyl reissues on GH Records that revisits the group’s earliest years.
