An Intern at The Star, loved it. Bit lonely though

No. Im not from the 1800s

How is social media changing news?

Very. I think alot of my stories rely on the changing on social media

Who's your favorite fictional journalist?

Peter Parker, if you count photojournalism!

What does it mean to be a journalist?

Being a journalist means chasing stories like a detective, writing like a poet under pressure, and surviving on kopi and adrenaline. For you, it's also about digging deep, asking the right questions (even the awkward ones), and making sure the underreported stuff gets seen — all while probably texting sources faster than most people type emails.

Not sure on using hashtags in these day and age buddy

How do you prefer to be pitched on stories?

I dont mind

I rely on a mix of tools to stay on top of things: Google Docs for writing and collaboration is one

What's your favorite social network?

Twitter (or if you're annoying, its called X)

Who do you wish followed you?

Why did you become a journalist?

Because I wanted to tell real stories that matter — to dig, ask the tough questions, and bring light to things people might otherwise miss. Plus, nothing beats the adrenaline of a good scoop!

Did you work for your high school newspaper? If so, what did you do there?

Not in high school, but fun fact — I was editor-in-chief of my university newspaper for a semester!

What story are you most proud of writing or working on?

Probably my enviromental or animal stories really. Love Green beats

What advice can you offer to aspiring journalists?

Fall thousand, get back up millions. Journo is tough but its worth it, I guess

When's the best time to pitch you?

Probably right after my second kopi - not too early, not too late. Mid-morning or late afternoon is safest… unless there’s breaking news!

What's the best pitch you ever got?

One that’s short, sharp, and already thinks like a story.

What's the worst pitch you ever got?

For me the worst pitch can be re-angeled to become the best pitch

What's your favorite drink?

Iced Americano, Iced Kopi O, anything blackish

When you're not at a computer, where are you most likely to be?

Sleeping.

Aside from your own, what's your favorite publication to read?

I love watching Vox, and informational journalistic videos

What's the most common misperception about your beat?

A common misperception about my beat transport, works, and science, technology & innovation, is that it's purely technical or just jargon.
