Afternoon drive anchor/reporter at WILD 1090 AM in Boston

Have you ever used a typewriter?

Manual with a fabric ribbon on spools plus electrics.

How is social media changing news?

It is much easier to engage the audience in the news gathering process and to find sources and research subjects thanks to social media.

What does it mean to be a journalist?

Being a journalist means providing information that facilitates effective citizenship.

How do you prefer to be pitched on stories?

Email is best.

Why did you become a journalist?

I have always felt strongly about the critical role news media play in disseminating the information needed to make democracy work.

Did you work for your high school newspaper? If so, what did you do there?

We did not have a newspaper, but I did help write my yearbook.

What advice can you offer to aspiring journalists?

Be flexible.
