Heath Ledet’s Biography

South Louisiana, The Woodlands, and a ranch in Arkansas mark the places that shape the story of Heath Ledet. Heath Ledet, a blues and Americana musician, singer, and songwriter, began in South Louisiana.
For more than 16 years, Ledet has lived in The Woodlands, Texas, part of the greater Conroe and Montgomery County area.

Music was his first calling, but his career grew out of a decision about family. As a musician, Ledet chose to focus on building a company that would give his family financial security. The choice took him into the power generation side of oil and gas infrastructure. He grew Montco Oilfield Solutions, a power generation business that supported major oil companies with their infrastructure, and building it is the professional accomplishment he is most proud of.

Ledet later sold Montco to a large company that will continue to grow both the business and its employees. Through the sale, the company he built and the people who helped build it continued under new ownership. Ledet then retired from the power generation and oil and gas infrastructure business.

His music continued during the business years. In October 2013, Ledet released the album Chasing My Dreams, a collection of 10 songs. The tracks are "Chasing My Dreams," "Wrapped Around Your Finger," "Too Good for Me," "Dirty Money," "You're Not Alone," "Forever," "We Dance," "Time Under the Sun," "Got My Eyes On You," and "Nothing to Lose." The record was a collaboration. Pershing Wells is featured throughout, and other musicians credited on individual tracks include Todd Sorenson, Todd Adams, Randy Ellis, Kathy Ledet, Troy Percle, Cory Duplechin, Lonnie Lapeyrouse, Terri Chiasson, and Charles "Chucky C" Elam. Listeners can hear it on Apple Music, Spotify, Shazam, and SoundCloud.

Now Heath Ledet is getting back into the music business in earnest. He is returning to live performance, focusing on festivals and events. He also has a full album of unreleased music ready, and he plans to put it out one song at a time, with a new track released each month.
At home in Texas, Ledet also runs Top Shelf Development, his new company in the home and property development business. He buys a property, builds homes on it, and sells them. It is a move from building a business in the energy industry to residential construction, with the same experience behind it.

In Arkansas, Ledet owns a ranch that serves as a place to hunt, fish, ride ATV trails, spend time on the lake, hike, and go rock hunting. Ledet is a father, and his family is an important part of his life.
Over the years, Ledet has given back through charitable giving and volunteer work. He has supported the Midland Police Department, contributing to the work of local law enforcement. He has supported United Way, the nonprofit organization that works to strengthen communities through local partnerships. He has supported schools, investing in the education of students, and he has been involved in a wide range of other charitable and volunteer efforts.

Today, Heath Ledet divides his time among his music, Top Shelf Development, his family, and his ranch in Arkansas, in a new chapter that brings him back to where he started.
