Why did you become a journalist?

I love writing.

Did you work for your high school newspaper? If so, what did you do there?

Yes! Our journalism teacher let us wander the school looking for stories. I loved it.

What story are you most proud of writing or working on?

Whatever story I'm working on at the moment is the one I'm in love with.

What's your favorite drink?

Americano

When you're not at a computer, where are you most likely to be?

Under the trees, I love nature.

Coast Weekend, Our Coast and the Astorian, but for fun McSweeny's Internet Tendency

What's the most common misperception about your beat?

My main beat is arts and culture. A common misconception is that it's "fluffy." Art and culture is the heartbeat of our humanity.
