Her early life was spent in Stuart, Florida, after moving there in 1996. Here, she enjoyed a dynamic childhood with her two sisters, exploring a range of sports, including ice hockey and baseball, which were her initial introductions to athletic pursuits. During her time at Martin County High School, she not only participated in softball and powderpuff flag football but also took up rowing, showcasing her athletic versatility. Beyond sports, she was deeply involved in her school community, serving as the class vice president for two consecutive years.

Following her high school graduation in 2005, Heather Matuszek pursued higher education at Mercer University. She graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Biology, minoring in Leadership and Service. During her college years, she was deeply involved in the Baptist Collegiate Ministries, took part in intramural sports, and dedicated herself to numerous community service projects. Seeking new challenges, Heather then transitioned into the real estate and construction sectors. Along with her partner, she founded a cabinet design company and Feather Lane Consulting LLC, focusing on restaurant business consulting and property management.
