Best fights that ended in a draw.
Discussion in 'Classic Boxing Forum' started by AwardedSteak863, . The dreaded D word. We have all seen some fights end in a draw where we thought someone got screwed. This thread is for those fights that were draws that were so good that no one deserved to lose. I just got done rewatching Eddie The Animal Lopez vs Leon Spinks which is one of my all time favorite heavyweight fights.
Does Greg Page not remind anyone of Henry Hank?
Discussion in 'Classic Boxing Forum' started by William Walker, . I was rewatching a Page fight earlier, and realized that his head, body, and foot movement was much like that of Henry Hank. George Crowcroft and greynotsoold like this. robert ungurean said: ↑ Noooooo. Lol Click to expand... Why not? Not even close. Toney is the guy who has some Henry Hank moves specially the waist movement is very similar to Hank.
Gaspar Ortega.
https://www.ringtv.com/573136-best-i-faced-gaspar-ortega/ Best I faced: Gaspar Ortega - from Ring Magazine 'Hard-nosed Mexican warrior Gaspar Ortega never won a world title, but throughout the 1950s to mid-1960s he was a bona fide welterweight contender, who fought 10 past or future world champions and five Hall of Famers during 176 recorded fights. Ortega was born in Mexicali, Mexico on Oct. 21, 1935.
Are we seeing double?
Some fighters seem cut to an uncanny extent from the same mold. Who are some pairs of fighters who almost seem to be carbon copies, at least to some extent. I’ll start us off with two: 1) John Conteh and Virgil Hill: two one-handed (left) light heavyweights who were primarily boxers who relied on movement, a great jab and occasional bursts with hooks and the right hand. Even the same olive complexion. Half an inch difference with Conteh at an even 6-feet and Hill a shade taller.
Joshua Kyle Greer vs. Michael Angelou Villafuerte Plania & Giovani Santillán vs Antonio DeMarco RBR
IB's RBR disclaimer: DO NOT ASK FOR LINKS! Do not hint for them. Do not ask "what channel?". Do not make any post that could be interpreted as insinuating a link request, even if it sounds innocent (ie stuff like "Gee, I don't have a way to watch this" or "if only this was televised where I live...") The folks at ESB do not want to get sued and therefore have adopted a VERY strict policy of zero-tolerance on stream requests to cover their butts. Thank you. PS.
Who is the richest active boxer?
Just read in my newspaper that a lottery winner just jumped ahead of AJ on Britain`s richlist by winning £115 million, AJ fortune is at £107 million, does any active boxer top that amount? Pac of course.
Noriko Kariya vs. Ava Knight
Boxing News 24 Forum Forums > Boxing > World Boxing Forum > Discussion in 'World Boxing Forum' started by GMmaster, Jun 26, 2020 at 2:00 PM. Not sure how many of you follow female boxing but it was clear back in the late 2000s that Noriko Kariya was becoming the real deal. In her last fight however at just age 28 in 2009 the JAP-CAN star was silenced from an Ava Knight knockout.
Wilfredo Benitez
Wilfredo Benitez was a highly gifted fighter and great perhaps the most gifted ti come out of the great nation of Puerto Rico. 3 Division world champion winning his first world title at age 17. He is someone we don't debate enough. Check out his knockout of Maurice Hope to win the Junior Middleweight world title.
More talented, Chad Dawson or Andre Direll?
Unarguably the two most gifted and talented fighters I ever met and Chad was definitely by a long shot the most God-gifted and talented fighter I ever saw in a gym. not who had better career or who is better p4p or any bull****. WHO WAS THE MORE TALENTED AND GIFTED FIGHTER BETWEEN THE TWO?

Bernard Hopkins: I'd Rather Have Manny Pacquiao's Legacy Than Floyd Mayweather's.
Boxing News 24 Forum Forums > Boxing > World Boxing Forum > Discussion in 'World Boxing Forum' started by Pakkuman, Jun 15, 2020 at 10:48 AM. “I’d rather have Manny Pacquiao’s legacy than Floyd Mayweather’s. Manny fought everybody and Floyd fought guys (on his watch). Manny fought who his promoter wanted him to fight. And Floyd fought the guys that were financially lucrative. I don’t think Floyd gave two you-know-whats about how people feel whether he fought the best guys or not.
Juan Francisco Estrada vs Roman Gonzalez II is ON for the Summer
We still have to see how post-Covid is going to play out, but boxing is going to want to make up for lost time. Gonzalez-Estrada II would be fantastic.
ggg is admirable
ggg is a 100% natural average weight he does not need to follow any method to give the weight as cinnamon did to fight at super welterweight. ggg does not use any type of steroid, he simply follows a good diet, he is disciplined with his workouts and he is also not alcoholic.
Manny Pacquiao vs. Canelo Alvarez at 154 in 2013.
Boxing News 24 Forum Forums > Boxing > World Boxing Forum > Discussion in 'World Boxing Forum' started by VG_Addict, May 17, 2020 at 7:08 AM. Could Pacquiao have beaten the much bigger Canelo at 154? Keep in mind this is Pacquiao after being knocked out cold by Marquez. Pac could outpoint him. Or get iced. Pre-KTFO6 would stop the 152 pound drained Canelo. If it goes to a decision Canelo wins cause like boxing historian @shadow111 says feints counts more than punches landed. Joking aside Pac KO 1.
Canelo Alvarez vs Jermall Charlo - Full fight breakdown and prediction - All about positions

Charlo is too predictable, but would he land more shots on C\anelo than Kov did? Is it gonna happen Ginger knocks that clown out. And he would do it in Charlos hometown. Mexicans run Houston. Did Mayweather duck an Oscar rematch?
The rematch was scheduled for 20 september of 2008 everything was set after Oscar had a tune up win against Forbes but Floyd in june of 2008 decided to retire/take a break from the sport instead of taking on Oscar again and get a career high payday. Do you fellas think this counts as duck?

Question about Pacquiao...
Boxing News 24 Forum Forums > Boxing > World Boxing Forum > Discussion in 'World Boxing Forum' started by Big Ukrainian, Jan 1, 2020 at 10:21 AM. Could Manny have become a middleweight champion after beating Antonio Margarito? IMO, he would have easily beaten guys like Sebastian Sylvester and Daniel Geale. Hell yes. i would even pick him to beat Martinez and i would pick Floyd to do the same. Log in with Facebook Log in with Twitter Your name or email address: Do you already have an account?

Canelo Alvarez vs Sergey Kovalev - Film Study and Post Fight Thoughts

Who would win?
Who would win? Many times I have seen massive debates on ESB where people argue who would win between certain fighters, but one thing that is often not noted is the experience levels and where fighters were in their respective careers. so for example who would win these fights at these respective times. So taking who had fought who at these times with the relevant experience each would or wouldnt have had or different weights they could still be growing into. How would these fights play out?
Errol Spence Jr. vs Shawn Porter Film Study Setting up the left hand

Fighters that you dont care either way.
I was browsing the forum and i noticed one thread about Leo Santa Cruz and i realized hes a fighter that means little or nothing to me for some reason. Its not that i dont like him or not hes just someone i pay little attention to and dont care if he fights or not he might as well be retired as far as as im concerned.
RJJ,Calzaghe,Hopkins or Toney who ranks higher?
For me its Roy but ive seen some posters who rate others higher,im interested to see you fellas thoughts on this one. So who do you guys rank higher? I'm wit Roy was a magnificent boxer an a fighter one of a kind in his prime . Between Jones and Hopkins for me.
Teofimo been very quiet....
Usually when Loma fights this kid is everywhere talking himself up and talking down on Loma and so far i havent heard anything and considering that Loma had some problems with Luke its even more strange the silence from Teo. Either hes really having personal problems like he said or hes going through some confidence issues after his less than stellar performance in his last fight.
So Hurd pulled out of the Williams rematch.....
Anyone else thinks this might have somrthing to do with J Rock asking for stringent testing starting 90 days before the fight? Hurd always seemed huge for the weight and despite his muscular built his stamina was one of his strong points, of course this might not mean anything and he could be clean i just found it a bit suspicious him pulling out of the fight after the testing demands by Williams. Thoughts??
