Design, reporting, and research focus of neurology and psychiatry drug trials (2020–2023): a registry-based meta-epidemiological study using ClinicalTrials.gov and NLP
Background Clinical trial registries document trial design, funding, and results reporting, but heterogeneous and unstructured entries limit cross-trial comparison. Consequently, it is unclear how neurology and psychiatry drug trials are designed and reported in practice, hampering comparison of studies, understanding of the available evidence, and planning of future trials.
Editorial: Enhancing resilience in complex systems: transdisciplinary and systems approaches to sustainable infrastructure and urban development
Introduction Resilience in urban systems can no longer be treated as the property of a single discipline. Compounded climate, seismic, economic and social shocks expose cities as coupled socio-technical systems embedded in ecological ones, in which cascading disruptions move across the built environment, fiscal instruments, ecosystem function and community life. The ten contributions assembled in this Research Topic span four continents and two Frontiers sections.

The Role of Universities of Applied Sciences in the Development of a National Research Data Infrastructure. Situation and Potentials of Universities of Applied Sciences from the Perspective of the Network FDM@HAW
“The presentation highlights the role of Universities of Applied Sciences (UAS) in research and their potential for the development of a National Research Data Infrastructure (NFDI). To address the growing need for structured research data management (RDM) at UASs, the FDM@HAW network has emerged as a potential connector between NFDI and UAS landscape. It aims to raise awareness of NFDI services across a diverse UAS network, and articulate UAS-specific requirements back to NFDI.

Spreading Research Data Management at Universities of Applied Sciences: Challenges & Strategies
The poster Spreading Research Data Management (RDM) at Universities of Applied Sciences: Challenges & Strategiespresents the project FORTH-BW. This project aims to develop a practical, secure, and researcher-friendly RDM system tailored for researchers and their partner organizations at participating Universities of Applied Sciences (UAS). The project fosters collaboration within the FORTH-BW network in Baden-Württemberg, addressing institution-specific needs and barriers to RDM adoption.
Obstructive sleep apnea event detection using explainable deep learning models for a portable monitor
1. Introduction PSG is the gold standard for detecting OSA (Mostafa et al., 2019; Kim et al., 2022). Its effectiveness is far from doubt. However, it has many widely known drawbacks, such as long waiting lists in hospitals, patients staying overnight in sleep laboratories with many sensors on their bodies, and the need for sleep clinicians during the study. In short, PSG requires a long time to be carried out and is economically expensive.
