What was your first job as a journalist?
Being a digital content producer for KUTV 2News in Salt Lake City. They were my first internship, too.
Have you ever used a typewriter?
No, but I've always wanted to test one out.
How is social media changing news?
Since most of the world has access to social media, anyone can become a "journalist" just by pointing and shooting their device at anything.
Who's your favorite fictional journalist?
Clark Kent.
What does it mean to be a journalist?
To be a journalist, one must be comfortable and capable of being the voice for those who cannot speak for themselves.
How do you prefer to be pitched on stories?
Pitches have to not only be newsworthy but also unique and uncommon.
What tools and software do you use to do your job?
Microsoft Office, Adobe Photoshop, Adobe Premiere, Final Cut Pro, Social Media, iNews, Avid Media Central, Google Analytics, and CrowdTangle.
Why did you become a journalist?
I became a journalist to expand my writing repertoire and to write stories that inform and inspire people, and with things that interest me.
Did you work for your high school newspaper? If so, what did you do there?
No; however, I did work for my college newspaper. I held multiple editorial positions and was a reporter, too.

Any time, anywhere.

Covering the impact of Texas' year-old texting and driving legislation.
What's the worst pitch you ever got?
Covering TCU's annual Christmas tree lighting.
What's your favorite drink?
Depends on what I'm eating, but I usually have water with me at all times because I'm notorious for staying hydrated.
When you're not at a computer, where are you most likely to be?
Spending time with family and friends.

I like to read Business Insider, INSIDER, GQ, Esquire, The New York Times, The New Yorker, Sports Illustrated, The Hollywood Reporter, etc.
