Hyla Ames Bauer is an accomplished and well-known editor and journalist covering watches and fine jewelry. Hyla's editorial experience began at GQ and Vogue Magazines in their fashion editorial departments. Upon leaving Vogue, Hyla joined Conde Nast Traveler, where she was the Executive Fashion Editor. Hyla traveled all over the world styling and producing women's and men's fashion shoots for the magazine, and attended the twice-yearly fashion shows in Milan, Paris, and New York. While at Conde Nast Traveler, Hyla developed a passion for fine timepieces and precious jewelry and attended the Basel and SIHH shows annually.
Pursuing her interest in the luxury watch industry, Hyla left Conde Nast Traveler to work at Vacheron Constantin North America as the head of PR. After two years at Vacheron, Hyla returned to magazine editorial as the Editor-in-Chief of Watch Journal Magazine. Hyla's experience on both the editorial and brand side of luxury watches gives her a unique 360-degree perspective on the luxury watch and jewelry industry.
