Inventory Policies and Safety Stock Optimization for Supply Chain Planning
In this paper, traditional supply chain planning models are extended to simultaneously optimize inventory policies. The inventory policies considered are the (r,Q) and (s,S) policies. In the (r,Q) inventory policy and order for Q units is placed every time the inventory level reaches level r, while in the s,S policy the inventory is reviewed in predefined intervals. If the inventory is found to be below level s, an order is placed to bring the level back to level S.
New algorithm for the flexibility index problem of quadratic systems
A new flexibility index algorithm for systems under uncertainty and represented by quadratic inequalities is presented. Inspired by the outer‐approximation algorithm for convex mixed‐integer nonlinear programming, a similar iterative strategy is developed. The subproblem, which is a nonlinear program, is constructed by fixing the vertex directions since this class of systems is proved to have a vertex solution if the entries on the diagonal of the Hessian matrix are non‐negative.

Continuous‐time formulations for the optimal planning of multiple refracture treatments in a shale gas well
This work presents a continuous‐time optimization model for planning multiple refracture treatments over the lifespan of a shale gas well. We demonstrate that continuous‐time models can handle multiple restimulations very efficiently, increasing the net present value of the well development and refracturing plan. Well productivity is represented by a piecewise hyperbolic function, which accounts for when and how often the well has been refractured.

Time for global action: An optimised cooperative approach towards effective climate change mitigation
The difficulties in climate change negotiations together with the recent withdrawal of U.S. from the Paris Agreement call for new cooperative mechanisms to enable a resilient international response. In this study we propose an approach to aid such negotiations based on quantifying the benefits of interregional cooperation and distributing them among the participants in a fair manner.
Stochastic Programming Models for Optimal Shale Well Development and Refracturing Planning under Uncertainty
In this work we present an optimization framework for shale gas well development and refracturing planning. This problem is concerned with if and when a new shale gas well should be drilled at a prospective location, and whether or not it should be refractured over its lifespan. We account for exogenous gas price uncertainty and endogenous well performance uncertainty.

Macro-Economic Multi-Objective Input-Output Model for Minimizing CO2 Emissions: Application to the U.S. Economy
Designing effective environmental policies for mitigating global warming is a very challenging task that requires detailed knowledge of the international channels through which goods are traded. This work presents a decision-support tool that minimizes the impact at a global macroeconomic scale by performing changes in the economic sectors of an economy.
Optimization models for planning shale gas well refracture treatments
Refracturing is a promising option for addressing the characteristically steep decline curves of shale gas wells. In this work we propose two optimization models to address the refracturing planning problem. First, we present a continuous-time nonlinear programming model based on a novel forecast function that predicts pre- and post-treatment productivity declines.
