Error When Converting Feature Collection to Pandas Data Frame
I'm trying to do zonal statistics in python API when I encounter error message: EEException: Computation timed out while running this cell of code to convert feature collection into data frame: df_asc = geemap.ee_to_df(zonal_asc) df_des = geemap.ee_to_df(zonal_des) My overall code somehow looks like this: import ee import geemap import pandas as pd import matplotlib.pyplot as plt import os ee.Authenticate() ee.Initialize() fc = ee.FeatureCollection('projects/project-id/assets/assets-name')...
Landsat Imagery comes up all white inside ROI
I'm trying to figure out why this shows a white region instead of color. I tried playing around with the min/max values and I cannot seem to find a solution to get true RBG color. import ee import geemap # Initialize Earth Engine try: ee.Initialize(project="-------") except Exception as e: print(f"Initialization failed: {e}.
Google Earth Engine: Global Population Count Calculation Returns Incorrect Values
I'm encountering an issue when trying to calculate the total global population using Google Earth Engine's GPWv411 Population Count dataset. Problem Description: When calculating the global population, I'm getting an extremely low value (~14,454 people) which is obviously incorrect. However, when I calculate population for individual countries (e.g., Uruguay), I get reasonable results (~3.2 million for Uruguay).
Gettingt result of earthengine profiler as dict object
geetools Profiler I ended up implemented it directly into geetools, it can be called as such: import ee, geetools with ee.Profiler() as p: ee.Number(3.14).add(0.00159).getInfo() p.profile {'EECU·s': [0.001, None], 'PeakMem': [4720, 3100], 'Count': [3, 3], 'Description': ['(plumbing)', 'Algorithm Number.add']} Manual implementation First one need to create a io object to capture the output of the profiler output_capture = io.StringIO() with ee.profilePrinting(destination=output_capture):...
Unable to filterBounds in Google Earth Engine for ERA5 Land in python api
I am using GEE in python to attempt to get ERA5-Land data for a region like California. However, when I try to filterBounds(), it doesn't seem to work. Here is an example using Landsat that works.
Why does Image.reduce(ee.Reducer.sum()) fail to sum the multi-band values correctly?
I found the sums of multi-band values calculated by .reduce(ee.Reducer.sum()) and .expression() were inconsistent in the following code. It can be seen that the result of .reduce(ee.Reducer.sum()) is incorrect (see the picture). Why?
What causes geemap.extract_values_to_points() to produce such inconsistent results?
I'm trying to get the average pixel values over a period of time. I used two methods: (a) using .mean() to reduce ImageCollection first and then extract pixel values from the reduced image. (b) extracting pixel values from each image in the ImageCollection first and then averaging them. Their results are inconsistent. The results of method (b) are in line with expectations. I am confused by this result because I expected the results of these two methods to be consistent.
All NDVI Samples over period
I'm trying to extract a dictionary of every single NDVI sample in a given area for a given year.
How to Create Your Own CV Dataset Using Satellite Imagery: Wildfires from Space
Collecting images to train CNNs Have you ever had this idea that a pet project on the application of ML to satellite images might significantly strengthen your data science portfolio? Or have you trained some models based on datasets developed by other people but not your own?
Earth Engine client library not initialized when using a dask cluster and xarray?
I'm trying to test running a simple math operation client-side using xee, an xarray extension for the Google Earth Engine API. When I set up the Dask client and run the compute() method I keep getting EEException: Earth Engine client library not initialized. Run ee.Initialize(). I do run the ee.Initialize() function after I set up the Dask client, but I'm assuming this function is bring ran outside the scope of the workers in my Dask cluster.
xee: Total request size (56623104 bytes) must be less than or equal to 50331648 bytes
I am using xee, an extension of xarray to work with data from Google Earth Engine. I am trying to test computing NDVI through an xarray of Landsat imagery, but I keep getting this error. EEException: Total request size (56623104 bytes) must be less than or equal to 50331648 bytes. Am I just working with too much data? I kind of assumed that xarray, in tandem with Dask, would allow me to work with data of any size. I'm attaching my code in case you would like to replicate the error yourself.
How to Get GEE data more faster?
I need country-month level nighttime lights data. I have already printed the data using the minimum example on the https://code.earthengine.google.com/ platform, but the current problem is that it takes more than ten hours to compute and still cannot obtain the data. Later, I switched to using the Python to get the data, but it still takes a long time. All I need is the average value for each month in country level. Why does it take so long to compute, and how can I improve the code?
Keep nan values when resampling using GEE and Python
I'm processing MODIS GPP data using GEE and python. The issue is the resolution of MODIS is very coarse so I need to upsample it using, for instance, bilinar resampling. The problem is MODIS contains some nodata values that I want to preserve (GEE mask them and I want to do the same). For example.
Substituting client-side getInfo() for server side in function to pass into map() function in GEE Python API
I am trying to clip an image over a FeatureCollection and then export each cropped image using the Python API.
Dropdown does not update map on Google earth Engine (Geemap Python package)
I have estimated ndvi and ndwi for a specific area based on Sentinel 2 images via gee library on Python (Google earth engine). More specifically, I have created two functions (one for each index) and applied them to one ee.FeatureCollection. I have created a dropdown menu with two options: ndvi and ndwi. I want to toggle and update the map based on a dropdown menu. The dropdown menu is shown on the map. The problem is that the map does not update when I click the other option.
GEE Export.image.toCloudStorage option 'skipEmptyTiles' in Python API
Asked today Viewed 2 times I am attempting to save an image from GEE to Google Cloud Storage within the Python API using ee.batch.Export.image.toCloudStorage. The documentation suggests that skipEmptyTiles can be set to true to skip writing fully-masked image tiles.
Error Showing With Python-"ee.ee_exception.EEException: Image.select: Pattern 'B4' did not match any bands."
I'm working on estimating chlorophyll-a using a Landsat 8 image with Python code and then I’m trying to build a web-app that is using Streamlit and the geemap library. But my map doesn’t show when I run it from my local computer. I've tried to change it but it's showing the error that tell 'didn't match any band'.
