“Recommendations for clinical study protocols for immune and inflammatory profiling in Parkinson’s disease” - npj Parkinson's Disease
Abstract Growing evidence supports the importance of immune processes in Parkinson’s disease (PD). However, there is a need to improve the quality of observational clinical studies investigating the role of immunity in PD. In this context, an expert panel from the COST Action IMMUPARKNET (CA21117) aimed to develop guidance recommendations for conducting optimal immune profiling in PD.

MEF2C and miR-194-5p: New Players in Triple Negative Breast Cancer Tumorigenesis
2. Results 2.1. Metastatic Properties of TNBC Cells Are Diminished upon MEF2C’s Silencing 2.1.1. MEF2C’s Expression in TNBC Cells Is Reduced upon Silencing without Compromising Cells’ Viability To disclose the role of MEF2C in TNBC, a mechanistic study using siRNA targeted to MEF2C (siMEF2C) was conducted in the triple negative 4T1 cell line.
Breast Cancer Brain Metastases: Implementation and Characterization of a Mouse Model Relying on Malignant Cells Inoculation in the Carotid Artery
1. Introduction Breast cancer (BC) is the most diagnosed and leading cancer in women, with 2.3 million new cases estimated in 2020 [1]. With the increased BC patients’ survival due to the remarkable improvements in early detection and therapies for primary tumour treatment [2], distant organ metastases arise as the foremost concern for BC survivors. In fact, 20–30% of them die of metastatic disease [3], with a less than 30% 5-year survival rate, even with adjuvant chemotherapy [4].
Dietary (Poly)phenols in Traumatic Brain Injury
Abstract : Traumatic brain injury (TBI) remains one of the leading causes of death and disability in young adults worldwide. Despite growing evidence and advances in our knowledge regarding the multifaceted pathophysiology of TBI, the underlying mechanisms, though, are still to be fully elucidated.
