.NET 6 brings many exciting innovations to the .NET ecosystem. Compared to the .NET Framework, .NET 6 is faster and can work cross-platform on Windows, Mac, or Linux. .NET 6 and its successors are the future of .NET and going forward, all new features will come to .NET 6+ rather than to .NET Framework. Because of these benefits, it's valuable to upgrade existing .NET Framework projects to build and run as .NET 6 apps instead.
