Fig. 1 ROC curves for diagnostic accuracy of significant CAD with exercise and resting hs-cTnT. Highlights •Resting hs-cTnT levels are higher in patients with angiographically verified CAD than those without. •Resting hs-cTnT levels alone or combined with exercise stress test results provide increased accuracy in diagnosis of CAD.
Preserved endothelial function in young adults with type 1 diabetes
Endothelial dysfunction is involved in the pathogenesis of atherosclerosis and is typically present in older adults with type 1 diabetes (T1D). In young adults, we aimed to assess the impact of T1D on endothelial function as detected by digital peripheral arterial tonometry (PAT) and its relationship with cardiovascular risk factors and long term glycemic control. Reactive hyperemia index (RHI) as a measure of endothelial function was assessed by PAT in 46 T1D patients and 32 healthy controls.
Circulating Levels of IL‐6 Receptor and gp130 and Long‐Term Clinical Outcomes in ST‐Elevation Myocardial Infarction
Background Reports on soluble interleukin‐6 (IL‐6) receptor (sIL‐6R) and glycoprotein 130 (sgp130) in ST‐elevation myocardial infarction (STEMI) are few and include a small number of patients. The aim of this study was to investigate the possible association between levels of these biomarkers in the acute phase of STEMI and future cardiovascular events.
