Abstract Global oceanic oxygen content regulates the marine carbon cycle and is tightly linked to climate change, yet its evolution during the warmer-than-present Marine Isotope Stage (MIS) 5e, ~130,000–115,000 years ago, remains poorly constrained. Here we reconstruct globally integrated oceanic oxygen using high-resolution thallium isotope records from the Arabian Sea and Southern California over this period, with average temporal resolutions of ~300–400 years.
