This narrative review evaluates whether current pharmacological evidence provides a defensible basis for investigating Traditional Mongolian Medicine as an adjunctive source of immunomodulatory candidates in sepsis.
The impact of comprehensive medical system reform on rural household economic resilience
Abstract Introduction: Strengthening the capacity of rural families to withstand health-related economic shocks is critical to consolidating poverty alleviation achievements and preventing large-scale relapse into poverty. However, existing studies pay limited attention to the resilience-shaping effects of the medical security system as a fundamental social policy, especially among rural households.
Ribosome and respiration defects drive developmental arrest of Schistosoma japonicum in non-permissive hosts
Parasitic flatworms of the genus Schistosoma infect a wide range of definitive hosts, which differ in their ability to support parasite development. Unlike in permissive host mice, Schistosoma japonicum undergoes pronounced developmental arrest in non-permissive hosts like rats; however, the molecular basis underlying host-dependent developmental outcomes remains unclear. Here, we combine morphological analyses, bulk and single-cell RNA sequencing to map the developmental trajectories of S.

The CGRP-nociceptor axis in cancer: tumor-specific programs of immune evasion, stromal remodeling, and tumor growth
Abstract Cancer neuroscience has established that peripheral nerves can shape tumor growth and antitumor immunity, although the underlying mechanisms vary across malignancies. Calcitonin gene-related peptide (CGRP), released mainly by peptidergic nociceptors and sensed through the CALCRL/RAMP1 receptor complex, is emerging as a recurrent mediator of tumor-nerve communication. This review synthesizes current evidence for CGRP signaling across tumor types.

Global research trends in tuberculosis drug-resistance mechanisms: a bibliometric and cross-database analysis
Abstract Background: Drug-resistant tuberculosis (DR-TB) remains a major challenge to global tuberculosis control. In 2024, approximately 390,000 individuals developed multidrug- or rifampicin-resistant tuberculosis (MDR/RR-TB) worldwide, while treatment coverage remained limited to 42%, highlighting persistent gaps in DR-TB management. The mechanisms underlying DR-TB involve resistance-associated mutations, bacterial adaptation, host–pathogen interactions, and drug-target-related processes.

PADA: perturbation-aware differential Riemannian attention for robust motor imagery decoding
Abstract Introduction: Riemannian geometry models have significantly improved the robustness and performance of EEG-based motor imagery decoding and are better suited to small sample sizes; however, their ability to extract nonlinear and spatiotemporal variability features often falls short of Euclidean-based deep learning methods. To address these limitations, we introduce a perturbation-aware differential Riemannian attention mechanism (PADA).

Structural dynamics, pathogenic mechanisms, and therapeutic targeting of the NLRP3 inflammasome in lupus nephritis
Abstract Lupus nephritis (LN) is a severe complication of systemic lupus erythematosus (SLE). The nucleotide-binding oligomerization domain-like receptor family pyrin domain-containing 3 (NLRP3) inflammasome plays a central role in the pathogenesis of LN. Aberrant activation of the NLRP3 inflammasome directly promotes glomerular injury, proteinuria, and tubulointerstitial fibrosis through the induction of pyroptosis and the release of interleukin-1β (IL-1β) and IL-18.

Straw checkerboard conquers the desert in Inner Mongolia
Do you think it takes heavy machinery to turn deserts green? In Hulunbuir, Inner Mongolia autonomous region, the answer is simpler: the straw checkerboard — dubbed the "Chinese magic cube". It locks shifting sand in place and lets nature heal itself. The 20,000-hectare Ganzhuer sandy land, born from a few pits dug in the 1940s, has been fully restored. Tall green "edge-locking" belts and reed barriers hold the line. Every hill that was once bare white sand is now covered in green.
