Have you ever used a typewriter?

Not only did I learn to type on one, I used one for college papers and my first jobs! Still have it in my office, gathering dust.

This applies to anyone rushing to tweet a breaking news story, only to realize too late there was a tragic typo: #CareerEndingTwitterTypo

Why did you become a journalist?

For me, it's all about understanding interesting topics so I can write about it and get others just as fascinated by it as I am.

What advice can you offer to aspiring journalists?

Get access to top-level people by talking to those at the bottom of the totem pole. They know what's going on and can fill in details.

When's the best time to pitch you?

Anytime! I'll get back to you when I'm awake, not on deadline, or in the shower/car/a meeting.
