Yes! I used a Selectric when I was in high school and college. By the time I went to graduate school, we were already in the digital age.
How is social media changing news?
It is giving news an immediacy that is sadly rendering print, a platform ruled by the deadline-driven publishing cycle, obsolete.

What does it mean to be a journalist?
You have the responsibility to report information as accurately as possible but also remember that you are telling a story.
What tools and software do you use to do your job?
Word, Google, LinkedIn, Facebook, Twitter, etc.

I'm a Twitter addict.
Why did you become a journalist?
Two reasons: I felt a compelling need to tell a story within a modern historical context; and I always enjoyed writing.
What story are you most proud of writing or working on?
"A Prayer in Times Square," which deals with my receiving unexpected comfort while trying to come to terms with my father's impending death.
What advice can you offer to aspiring journalists?
Write to express, not to impress. And ALWAYS remember your audience when writing a story.
